Graphic Cards Buying 4870 With 512 and 1 GB any difference ??

hey .. everyone just have a small query ..4870 Video card with 512 memory and also with 1 gb memory is there any difference in performance between both the cards or its better to buy card with now 1 gb memory. kindly advice. i want to move from 4850 ..:-)

Incase u want to play on 1680x1050, 4870 512MB is an AWESOME VFM..

Incase u dont care abt ur cash or local warranty or Game@ 1920x1200, then go for 1GB version

The 1GB version is available in India as well. Also, its not ONLY the high resolutions that require so much memory, as has already been pointed out by sidhu
 
He's got 24" LCD, so I reckon he would be playing at 1920X or at least 1680x minimum... in either cases, playing high settings will warrant the need for 1GB version, else textures will bottleneck on 512. :)

For lower resolutions i.e.

The 1GB of RAM in the 4870 kicks in when the resolutions're cranked up. ;)
 
ok........ Then forget 4870 1GB, Buy 4850X2 1GB Insted (BEST CARD , SUPER VFM Since the Price Drop (Now it costs $240 only and performs ATLEAST 40% Better than 4870 1GB at 1920x1200 resolution in ANy game at any AA/AF settings :clap:)
 
i got a similar question,...only thing is i will game at 1440x900. and i am not planning to buy a new monitor any time soon,..so will choosing the 1 gb card over 512mb make any difference for me?

also consider some of the driver problems which might not be easy for beginners or every1 to get over easily , as the bundled drivers seems to have probs according to reviews, but the latest drivers on the sapphire site seem to work properly:)

the power consumption is slightly higher, but neverthless an awesome card for 240 $ , atleast 10 %faster than GTX280 , and the 2gb version must be like 15 -30% faster than gtx280 , 1GB version would be more than enough for that resolution i think :)
