HI,

I am having a CANON A630 8MP cam.It Runs with 4 batteries.
On the cam i found that 4.3V dc is needed for it. Now if i use 2500mah re chargeable batteries with full charge....How many snaps i can take approximately with it? If i use duracell batteries i can take upto 300 snaps....

Please help me.....

A good set of NiMh batteries should yield similar performance i guess. Will be affected by following:

1. Use of LCD Vs optical viewfinder. Viewfinder should give >500 i think.

2.use of zoom

3. very IMP: flash

4. Switching it on and off.

so long as u get bout 250 n above pics, you should be ok. But this is continous shooting within a day like. Rechargeable Cells do lose some charge if kept too long.

With good 2100mAH you should get nearly 380 shots with LCD on. Without LCD probably within 500. With 2500mAH even more. But are you getting 2500mAH here? Where from and from which company?

You can get more than 400 snaps easily out of that batteries, but do remember that these batteries will drain if its kept unused after charging.

You can get a pair of Camelion 2600mAH for 320/-
Sanyo 2700mAH and Uniross 2500mAH are also available.

Are they genuine? Also good in performance? At 320 bucks well .. I doubt. :S
NiMh or NiCd? Because others from Sony, Eveready etc are quite pricey.(NiMh ones)
A little fear in using them in costly digicams.... :O

Cameleon is a good brand....their batteries (2100Mah) lasted me for 2 years (the charger died with in 1 month though...as it didnot have warranty, i had to get a local charger which is still going fine after 2 years)

Sony is selling 2500mah batteries at 400 a pair...

Thanks a lot guys for your responces.....I am facing some problem with the cells i have...

Yes they are genuine. regarding performance i have not tested them that way.
and ofcourse NiMH.

Now a days you get a pack of 4 Cameleon AA 2600mAH (+ 2 Cameleon AAA 600mAH free) for 600/-:)

i am using Sanyo 2700mAh batteries. gave me arnd 500 shots with few mins of video recording and lots playback of the images in the LCD. A pair costs Rs.400/- and the charger costs 1500 incl. a pair of batteries. The charger has a auto cut off feature as well, charges these batteries in 5 hours :D.

1. Never use NiCd
2. Use Alkaline only when you cant charge your NiMh
3. NiMh gives much more shots than Alkaline + there is no memory effect
4. Suggestion of techie_007 are correct other than the first statement that both will give similar performance
5. Camelion in my experience is neither good nor bad
6.Sony/Sanyo/Uniross/GP etc are good. Better get Sony which is easily available and not very costly also. For details, prices etc. see their own site.
