Conservatively expect a 5 to 10% increase ....
 
woah, 5-10% is quite an improvement, the 5.5 was bet till now, found it better than 4.12 which is still second best acc to me, lets see how good this one is :D

When is nvidia going to release a driver which gives 30% more performance???? ;)

And anyway, when is the next batch of nvidia's drivers going to be released????
 
From the last score of around 1500 (I get arnd 2597 with Omegas :D) with cat 5.5 and the latest patch of 3dmark05 i got around 1857 this time. A cool 357 marks increase. :D
Expect great things from the Omega release of the 5.6 edition of Cats !
 
Are these increases just in 3DMark'05?Or are there some real benefits?
ATi's 3dmark'05 scores always seem higher vis-a-vis their real life performance against NV4X parts,case in point the X700PRO/XT vs the 6600GT.Even though the X700pro is only 10-15% lower in 3DMARK'05 in games like farcry it is totally routed.
And what about DOOM3?Is ATi's OpenGL driver finally anywhere near as good as Nvidia's?
 
Here are my scores with cat 5.6
previously my peak score in 3dmark05 was around 5000 to 5100. at the same settings (well i increased the mem speed by 3 i.e. from 522 to 525 mhz i.e. 1050 mhz :ashamed: :D )
with the cat 5.6 it is 5339

cpu = 290 fsb

mem @ 5:6 divider , 2.5-3-3-6, 3.2V
Super pi 1M score at that settings is as under
 
The release notes report of 10% performance increase in Opengl games like dooom3 and riddick. Unfortunately i dont have either of those installed to test them out.
 
Didnt really knew X800XL wud do 5000+ In 3D Marks 05 ,
Just thinking what wud X850 wud do in 3D Marks 05.

Ati's are really powerful but some good pricing in India wud help it penetrate more.
18K is tooooo muccch , some thing close to 13-14.5K wud help me get my hands on X800XL for my new Rig

Lol ! Thats y the card is known as 6800GT killer :P ! ATi has worked quite hard on their drivers and most of the scores in opengl games are within 5-6% of the Nvidia counterparts.
@quad: Yes it is around 18-19k in India but if you can get it from abroad then its arnd 12-13k. Btw one of our members was planning to sell x800xl for 15k here, dunno what happened to that ............

Its a 6800 GT killer alrite, because its priced lower. If a 6800 GT and X800xl were priced similar I would take the 6800 GT anyday, it easily oc's to ultra speeds, and even though its a paper SM 3.0 launch atleast I will be able to see the effects in slideshows...
 
Hey guyz i have a 9700pro ,just thinkin are these drivers improvin the speeds of newer cards only or will there be a performance inc. on my card too???

If you normally use omegas like i do then i guess you should wait for the Omegas based on the 5.6 cats to come out. ;)
