Celebrating the B'day!

I got my first system way back in 1996 but it was pretty priced then , not like in the 70k's or 80k's

Here is what i had then

Intel 486 66Mhz

some mobo

4Mb ram

480 Mb hdd

1.5" FDD

Optiquest 900 s monitor (had a panasonic crt ) 15"

Windows 3.1

Costed AED 3.5k which would mean 35k , pretty decent i guess
 
haha...brings back memories....my first pc was a

p4 1.6GHz (8k)

original intel 845 mbd (8k)

128mb sd ram (2k) (later upgraded to 2x128mb sd ram)

40gb ibm hdd (6.8k) (crashed...upgraded to a 120gb seagate pata hdd)

32mb riva tnt g. card (2k) (later upgraded to ati 9600pro - 7k)

17inch flat crt (10k)

creative inspire 2.1 (2.5k)

etc etc

total was ~50k

i still have this rig running at my bro's place....runs most arcade and prince of persia games at high settings, dies in current fps games

Pentium II > AMD K2 550 > Pentium III 933 > T-Bird 1200 > Athlon Xp 1700 >Athlon XP 1800 > Athlon XP 2400 > Winne 3200 > Opty 144 > Opty 146 > X2 3800 > Venice 3000+ > C2D 6400

And I have all the bills from PIII 933 Days :bleh:...

That Winnie 3200+ is still chugging along in my desktop :bleh:

here is my desktop's journey:

PI MMX 200 -> Celeron (slot 1) 450 -> PIII (slot 1) 550 mhz -> Athlon XP 2400-> Winchester 3200

And I have none of the bills with me :(

I have a knack for losing papers...Hell, I even lost my IT returns for the last 2 years, forget abt preserving bills :(

The previous 2 comps we had were family comps...not mine alone

That was a P3 550 MHZ and then a P4 2.4 ghz Northwood. I wish I had a better mobo at that time to oc it... I had an Intel original mobo.

I used to say that with so much pride. Intel ORIGINAL 865 GBF mobo :rofl: :rofl:
