Forum Feedback Changes during the downtime

There have been several changes during the 21-22 Feb '10 downtime. Things are not yet settled as we are yet to give things a final touch, the members need to adapt and finally we need to monitor if they have all been useful. So let me summarize them below for your reference:

  1. New portal which will have all Latest News, Reviews, Guides, Best of the month recommendations and WCG link
  2. The reviews and guides forum will be removed and all posts moved to the portal with proper credit to the author. We are still looking at the option of integrating the forum and portal.
  3. Meanwhile you have a new section called draft wherein you can prepare your guides and tutorials. No one else besides the staff can see that section. You can only see your own thread.
  4. We have a new Buying advice section. This has been done to separate such threads from the tech sections
  5. We have a new rules page which will be updated with proper links on the forum. Link: TechEnclave Community Rules

  7. First 5 posts of a new member will be moderated from now on
  8. New registrations will also be moderated. You have to answer a question satisfactorily to join TE now.
  9. Access to members market forum is restricted. Only users in the premium usergroup will have access to it. You can apply for it yourself. Read more here: http://www.techenclave.com/faq.php?faq=tepremium
  10. A new feature called helpfulness points - In buying advice sections you can rate an individual post. The link is at the bottom of the post. Only members who qualify the criteria can rate the posts. Read more here: http://www.techenclave.com/faq.php?faq=helpfulness
  11. Only users in the premium usergroup will have access to the Market section
  12. We will try to update the FAQ to cover most of the questions about the site. Also give it a proper link in the header.
  13. Will keep on adding more as I remember it.. :P
 
Its alright, the portal is the face of the website and we intend to keep it this way. Also it is not completely developed yet, so will evolve with time.

Sir i know there can't be two homepages, i mean to say that will there be any change in current homepage to look like something before one:) and +1 for krishnandu post, previous one was really much better:(
 
How does this affect the deals which were made previously before the change? :S I already have a deal with a TE member spyking and now I cannot reply to his post because the market section is locked :S. This is pretty bad :-[:@

Also, for a member like me who visits the TE forum occasionally, how you guys will upgrade the membership to premium? :ashamed:

^^ P2P is also a premium member section.

We are doing some changes right now. I will come back with a detailed post on how things stand and what has changed by tonight.

There seems to be some confusion about premium memberships. We will address that.
 
Premium membership is a great, personally would have liked the title as "power user" but hey :P. Hopefully it won't be simply handed over to just any bloke. As for the portal, I don't like those blog type eye candy, too irritating and flashy, but I am sure I will/might like the new portal when I am used to seeing it.

Yup changes are good,those Helpfulness points, premium membership and all, all changes are really good and there should be some changes it looks nice and different, i think after long time there has been so many changes on TE:)

only that Homepage need some or many changes:)

What about my deal with Spy king though? I dont want to trade outside TE. I cannot see any posts in market section. Although these new rules would be very helpful in keeping frauds away from TE same cannot be said for buyer because we pay the money and buy the goods. And TE is a trusted website :).
 
i think this new idea will help me bring me as active member in TE,, i am already active in TE but i wont post replies thats my drawback(bcoz of less english knowledge).. anyway i wil try here after.. :) thanks mods
