Well, i am fed up with sify like almost everyone out there:( ....(Those who r not, talk to me):no:

But now i am about to change to 5net here......I am posting this because i will soon be posting about the Pros nd Cons about this ISP....i have 5net in my hostel nd get at least 200kbps min download even on a 40kbps plan.........

will be changed at the end of the month.....so mumbai users just wait nd watch this thread for the rundown on 5net
 
nope.......wat i said is rite......the 40kbps is the caps on the p2p nd torrents
.....other than that, the http/ftps have nearly 5MBps bandwidth , so get >200kbps speeds, (please dont mind the b and B s , they r all download speeds , xcept the 40 kbps )
 
Ya... 5net rocks... I'm on a 3mbps Line with a Data Transfer Pack of 400MB per month for around 800bucks a month

but the catch here is that between 11pm to 9am and the whole of Sunday the data transfer thing doesn't apply...:hap2: :hap2: :hap2:

And as for the speeds I get around 1-2mb/sec...:clap: :clap: :clap:
 
wow...........u have the plan ID ???? is it nite unlimited ??? nd wats the daytime usage limiti nd all ??? i gotta take this hehehe

HMMM......never got a quote for that plan man.......i was bout to thake the US40 plan........can u find out the plan serial no.????? frm ur guy ???? i need it quickly so i can tell my SSV dude to get this plan fer me .........
 
ok finally got 5nets NU plan...speeds range frm 800kbps-1.5mbps during heavy usage hrs , and go till 2mbps......these are download speeds and please do not mind the M or m , and k nd K .... its amazing .....
 
20 days of sify compensation is getting expired tomorrow 8/8/07. will be getting Hathway within 2 day then... amazing hospitality by their marketing person.. he is giving 2 connection 1 to PC and another to laptop absolutely free (incl of plan/month)!! woohoo. Hathway rocks.. i paid money to hathway on 1st lets see when i get it. he commited that installation will take place within 10 days.
 
but still dude........1mbps downlaod speed , NU , 150Mb day time limits , 800Bucks ....... pretty gud service .... nuthin beats dat..???? :D
 
dude phoenix..wats the nam of the plan?
and are torrents working and do u get the same sppeds? currently using sify 256 kbps and paying 1122..why not go for this plan then?
do u recommand it?
 
well normal net speed which i got was 1-1.5mbps constant(download speed)....and torrents are arnd 40-50kbps, will try sumthin to get sum more juice outta it......sify sux......

wats the plan name?any disconenctions so far? because the same cable provider who provides sify porvides 5net.So i will ask him to make the switch next time.
 
well.....wen sify gets disconnected , it does too.....coz the LAN network is the same......but still, u get 20 times the speed for the same money.....works neday
 
ok..i enquired today...the plan says 256 kbps to 3 mbps(USMT 700) and 512 Kbps to 3 Mbps(USMT 500) with data limit of 700 mb and 500 mb respectively.Night unlimited is from 11pm to 9am.the costs of the respective plans are 700+tax and 800+tax.
can someone pls reconfirm the torrent speeds(phoenix,no 1-2 mb speeds in torrents? )

besides 500/700 mb data transfer limit per month seems too less..i'd rather go for tata 2 mbps night unlimited which would cost 600 rs odd.
 
well i tuk the uss256 plan, same speeds , 150MB per day limit.......neville_kc says he gets 1mbps on torrents , and 1-2mbps direct
