You don't need a cabinet. a regular cardboard box will suffice :P

If I were you, I would save on the cabinet and get a cheap yet reliable power supply. I would recommend the Zebronics Pro Series 350W. It retails for around 1.35-1.45k in Madras.

^^That Dealextreme Torrent downloader does that exactly!
Even i had similar requirements like you and i searched a lot and finally ordered that downloader/NAS from DX for $41.23 :)
You can't get a better NAS than this at 2k!

Where and How to order it from? KMD?

Hey, that router looks good.. i have no clue how to set it up tho..:(

I was looking for a cheap download rig option.. this sounds perfect..:P

The DealExtreme thingy requires PayPal for payment and I don't have a Credit Card let alone a PayPal account. What to do now? Can anybody please also tell me about that WD MyBook thingy? What is that? How does it works as a DL Rig?

So can u guys tell me what should I go for, that DealExtreme Network Server or Atom based Shuttle rig, as my main concern here is not the price or the size but the ease of use and accessibility. I want the system to be on a tight fault-tolerant ON/OFF mechanism. That is, it should be able to start and stop downloads as soon as the power is switched ON or OFF. I don't want to see the HDD or the downloads crashing just after a week of operation.

You can have a look at this case which supports
Smart Power Button:
An additional jumper activates an "always ON after power loss' automatic pulse generator that will startup your motherbaord every time power is applied, regardless of BIOS setting!
M350 Universal Mini-ITX enclosure

What is it exactly? A casing only or a complete download solution?

M350 is just Mini-ITX enclosure. But it has a special circuitry which restarts the machine in case of power failure..

I don't think so.Possibly you can get from someone coming from USA.:)

There are a couple of things to consider :

1. Your Budget
2. Needs/requirements

If your budget is around 10K then go for an NMT (Popcorn Hour A-110 or a clone).

It can do almost all that you need :

1. Play just about any audio/video (MKV, FLAC, AVI, DIVX ......)
2. You can put an HDD inside (SATA) or attach a USB storage for all your Data.
3. It can download Torrents/Usenet and even from Rapidshare
4. Can be managed with either a remote or over LAN/Internet
5. It can access all your Linux/Windows machines that are on your Home LAN (it has a 10/100 RJ-45 port for LAN)
