Choosing between 50" Plasma or 46" LCD TV

Marketing BS? :P

The Hitachi Plasmas also use such god awful resolutions. But they use some line doubling technology and manage to show the correct image. Maybe this panny also does something like that.
 
^ Yea, though my display shows up a native resolution of 1920x1080, its something like 1280x1080. Text however is pixel perfect.

Do try a PC input before actually picking it up if you plan to game or browse on it, else bunk!

as a thumb rule: whenever buying a HDTV set simply ask about "panel resolution" not about supported input signal formats....:hap2: :hap2:

btw. upscaling is just a marketing gimmick whatsoever

Yep true...I am not particular abt Full HD...I just want it to be capable of playing HD dvd decently.

The Samsung sonoma series 40" LCD is 10k less than the panasonic plasma but I saw the last ODI on the 46" Samsung Sonoma LCD at a showroom and the pak green jerseys were exagerated with a halo even...Surely I cant watch that...

Infact with LCDs I find that its very important to be choosy...whereas an avg plasma is a safe bet with SD transmission.
 
Too lazy to go and buy...Dont need a TV till Im married, so conveniently postponing...But yes...will go today and buy....Theres some lucky draw at TMC Hyd on 1st and I want to get my name in before that hehe...
 
Guys, if you are into buying from the USA, there are going to be crazy sales between now and Xmas..... for the holidays..... everywhere.
 
Paid up for the Panasonic Viera 42PV70H. Could have got a 42" LCD for the price I paid, but I couldnt find an LCD within that price(or even bit higher) that had the color reproduction of the viera plasma...

Delivery in 5 days though... Says they dont stock much of these as not many buy it :ashamed:
