I don't know how many gamers here on TE are really into RTS. But if you are like me, born and bred on a steady diet of AoE, AoM, TOTAL WAR and the Ceaser series, this just might rekindle that old yearning for a good match up --

RELIC ANNOUNCES COMPANY OF HEROES 2

Successor to the wildly successful CoH, the game that redefined the expectation of a whole genre [apart from raising the levels of eye-candy]. CoH 2 takes place on the Eastern Front and comes with a completely revamped Essence Engine 3.0 and "True Sight" in which the player sees what the units see.
Release date: Q1 2013
Genre: RTS
Developer: Relic Entertainment
Publisher: THQ [most likely]

This'll be a definite buy for me if it'll be priced under 1000 bucks. Raelly enjoy games like this, but barely played any after playing AoE II for over 1000 hours.

If it releases I expect its pricing between ~699/- -->999/-.

I remember that I had bought CoH ~1399/-, CoH: Opposing Fronts ~699/- and the GOLD EDITION having both these campaigns for ~699/-.

Really fun game with insane graphics fidelity for that time. In fact I had installed the demo thinking it was a CoD clone. Boy was I wrong and the story, the texture and unit details, Turtle tactics with Allied Defensive Ops skill tree = unknown hours burnt up.

Have seen my friend play through Coh1 .. he was a big fan ... was a bit too slow for my taste (back then).

This is one of the most epic games I have played, and will definitely look forward to playing the sequel.

Hole crap! A sequel is in development? :O

CoH was bloody awesome. Played both the standalone expansions as well. 2013 is shaping up quite nicely I see with a lot of titles postponed and a whole new bunch showing up!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! New expression has been invented =P

True on both the counts, bloody gory and really detailed at that. The strategy system was also overhauled completely no more confused repeat animation battles, every building could be turned into a fortress, the cavalry was no longer invulnerable to the humble infantry, enemies could be ambushed, flanked, dismembered and blown to oblivion.

Really the best RTS and RTT titles were this one and World in Conflict.

I cried when Captain MacKay was vaporized by the PzKpfw VI TIGER's HE shell

I will keep that in mind Gannu.

Hope they have a decent multiplayer matchmaking format, preferable on STEAM.

Must buy for every RTS fan!

I can happily second that, in fact replaying CoH: Tales of Valour as of these days [killing time to get The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition].

It really is, as it is there aren't proper quality RTS's releasing.

Depends on what you expect from a proper RTS title, most AoE fans did not transition to this new wave of RTS's and for those who loved grand strategy, TOTAL WAR series has been very active since the release of EMPIRE: TOTAL WAR.

1.Company of Heroes
2.Rome total war
3.Mediveal 2 total war
4 Shogun 2 total war

SKipped empire..:P..dont like the gameplay!
