Graphic Cards Computer did not boot up?

Ok...... what exactly do you mean by signal loss???

If it means that the comp is working fine and only the signal is not being sent to the monitor, then that is NOT the problem.... Coz even the sound hangs. And that proves that the whole comp has hanged...
 
How is the weather there ?? It used to happen to my PC during rainy season sometimes... Dont know but try this turn on the moniter for some time. I mean keep the button on but dont start ur PC. After the moniter heats up a bit start ur machine and see. I dont know whether this method has some logic or not but it helped.

Also otherwise ur RAM is the culprit.

The Graphics card does not have anything to do in this situation i am sure.

Either the RAM or the moniter.

Try to remove one RAM module and see for some days. Also run some memory tool to see some errors in RAM.

What you are describing here is due to excess humidity the the crt tube heater or the EHT
take a bit of time to generate the correct level of voltages. also the the moisture on the heater pins on the "neck" board takes some time to evaporate....this delays the picture by a few minutes ...and the initial pics are totally out of
focus and the screen size is reduced.
BTW, this is not an issue with nikhil's case here.
waiting for nikhil to give more inputs before we can suggest some solutions.
TIP: a corrupted cmos (especially power saving options ) can also cause the behaviour you have described. hence the first thing i would suggest is that you clear the cmos "battery removal" method and then see what happens .....if no change then we can try to isolate the problem i.e. whether it is a software issue or hardware issue, including the the various settings and options.
TIP2: confirm that the gfx card is "seated" properly in the slot and the connections (video) are not loose.

Hey nikhil but please try the RAM solution... Its the RAM thats causing this issue...
 
1). Humidity is not the problem :) This is Bangalore :P Not so humid like say Mumbai or Chennai.

2). Everything was seated properly. When the problem kept happening, I checked all cables, cards, changed the RAM slots.

3). I did clear BIOS. But I didnt remove the battery but I used the jumpers on the mobo to clear BIOS. The problem continued even after this.

Anyway since I posted this last night at "Yesterday, 09:57 PM" I have not faced any problem.

I will keep in mind that it could be the RAM IF it happens again.

Maybe that the reason of humidity is not the case here... Just though the weather is crapping things a bit...
And that message was for me.... :)

And this is for u...

Does humidity have any adverse effect on computer parts ?? I mean if there is heavy rainfall, and room becomes too humid...
 
comin to the BIOS part u can try flashing ur mobo's and GFX card's bios again...its harmless if u have the utility to flash the mobo and card... try that might help :) now that everything is fine do it if u want to...but run everything at stock..:)
 
okay..... I have been using my comp since the past 1 and a half days....continously without any problems......
 
The same problem started today again !!!

And once or twice it crashed with some sort of kaleidoscope on the monitor. I got damn scared again. And it didnt respond at all.....

The other times it crashed with a BSOD...... machine check exception...

Booted into SAFE mode. Worked fine for abt 10 mins.

Then booted into SAFE mode with networking. Was working fine for 5 mins. then I opened MSN messenger and it crashed with the BSOD (Machine_check_exception).

Then removed the cable from the LAN card and booted in normal mode. Worked fine.

Then enabled onboard LAN and installed MArvelll Yukon drivers and internet was also fine.

Disabled that LAN card.

Since then it has been working fine without a hitch!!

I have a feeling that my LAN card is definitely dying ..... :( :(
 
I doubt it...... And it is 1.6 V..... not 1.55 :rofl:

And since the time I connected to onboard LAN, it has been working perfectly !!
 
:O you want to kill it or something ?:P mine is a lot better does the same speed at 1.55 :P
anyway if its working now then good..lol
 
i remember a8v having issues with onboard lan while cpu was overclocked .. could be something similar for you . try stock and see as well
