Sounds like you haven't read the thread either!

He has a VX450 and the issue was probably cos of the GPU overheating as a result of a bad and insufficient air-flow inside his Frontech enclosure.

 rofl

84 Deg in 12 mins is quite high.
Id suggest you run the furmark test for a long period of time. alteast 1 hour and see what the temps get up to.
Im guessing heat buildup over long gaming sessions is causing this. or it could be the ram otherwise.
basically wat sir morgoth has said is 100 % correct.
Run the furmark test for a extended period and report back with the temps.
i just hope your problem gets sorted out.
cheers.:)

After the earlier instance of the issue i took the a few measures:

1. Cleaned the MB, Slots, Cabinet and most specifically the GPU by a powerful vacuum cleaner. First used the suction menthod, then blowed it and again used suction.

2. The Cabby is permanently open now.

3. I have changed the HD slot to the second place so that there is a bit of air around it and the wires are away from it.

The problem was solved until yesterday the comp shut down while my bro was playing COD 4.

I did a light vacuum cleaning today again though this time the gpu wasnt removed. Just a overhead cleaning.

I ran the test once again. Today morning to be exact.

Furmark 1hr 1440 x 900 - Max temp (Surprisingly) was a stable 79/80
Idle Temp - 48/49

OCCT 3 CPU Test 1 hr - Max Temp 54/56
Idle Temp - 42/42

Also please check the ram, since PSU, CPU and most probably GPU are not in question. With that rig I hope you have some good cooling in place.

Your CPU seems fine. 84 for GPU is a little bit high but not at all alarming... Rename Furmark to something else. May be CoD4 and then run it for around half an hour. If temps are within 100 degrees, your GPU is fine too.

Next test your RAM. If that too comes out alright, run OCCT and Furmark simultaneously for at least 15 minutes... just be careful about temps etc.

Why should i rename Furmark...?

How do i check the RAM coz even i suspect that the RAM is being overheated.

3. For temperature, use the best cooling kits accessories for the right device and see if the problem exits or not.

What cooling kits or solutions should i go in for. (Cheap one's please and their costs)

And fans as well...?

Your Frontech Enclosure; does it come with provisions for installing a 120mm fan at the back/front? Your side panel should have a provision for installing a 80mm fan IINM.

Install those cheap Amigo 120mm/80mm fans wherever possible. Performs quite decently and you should get some drops in temps inside the enclosure.

Heh was wondering why he suggested renaming the file and running it. :P

and the cost of these amigo fans...?

Mediahome.in has posted some fans for 500 bucks in the dealer's section. How are those at that price point.

AND Which RAM test should i use........??????????

P.S. huhh... fans ko to sasta hona tha na... huhh

May be not relevant. Since the temp is not high... Did the pc restart after shut down?. Reformatting might help in that case. I had that issue before and the pc would not turn on after some shut downs(while gaming. . But i mostly game on my pc). I had wasted my time fooling around with my hardware. So just warned

I was facing the same problem.Games use to shutdown after 15-20 mins.

Few TE guys suggested me to remove Processor and heatsink and apply thermal compound.

Before applying Thermal Compund my temps for CPU was 60-70 and for GPU it was around 70-80 without load.

After appying thermal compound my temps were 35-40 for CPU and 50-60 for GPU.

After load CPU temp was 40-45 and GPU temp was 60-65

I installed Riva tuner and set the fan speed of GPU to 100.

My system seems to be working perfectly now.No more shutdowns

:D

There might be dust inside GPU Fans making them unable to run. I had this problem couple of days back.

The temp went up to 85c pretty fast and games started going crazy... those absurd hazy graphics. There were no shutdowns though.

So if your games are running pretty ok and it shutdowns abruptly then it might be a psu issue. Just a thought.

Games are running absolutely fine. Cleaned everything up and the temp while games hovers around 62.

Any idea about some RAM test. I suspect my RAM's getting overheated.

and after a 1hr furmark and 1 hr occt 3 i doubt that the GPU or CPU would be at fault.

If RAM's not the culprit, then i could point out at PSU though again i do not expect VX450 to do so... huh

P.S. Please suggest some decent RAM test

RMA the card if you can. Used to happen to my old Geforce 4Ti. Was some manufacturing defect. After getting a replacement all was well. If at 80C it shuts down, then something is wrong

NO shut down even at 80C... huh ran at the same temp for about 1hr and no prblems. BUt when i start off my game and run it for a prolonged period or more instances of shutdowns increase.

Are you overclocking? If so you should back down the overclock and also turn the case fans to 100% all the time from the m-board (Unless it gets too noisy for you) If you have tweaked the voltages, make sure they are not too high and try lowering them a little (ONLY if you have raised them) If you have never checked.....make sure that your voltages and stock m-board settings are at least set to close to their recommended settings... go to the m-board manufacturer and check the specs for your hardware combo.

You can always re-overclock later if you want to after the m-board is set correctly. Make sure you have the latest BIOS installed.

That fan is an overkill for your system (considering its a Frontech enclosure!). You could invest in 3 Amigo 120mm fans rather.

The dealer will not accept an RMA until the card's at fault. Your system is overheating since you do not have sufficient ventilation inside your enclosure.

You did not answer my query yet; does it come with provisions for installing 120mm/80mm fan(s) at the back/front?

Get a better enclosure first! Something cheap and good like a Zebronics Bijli. Lets think of adding fans later. :P
