So I juz want to know which motherboard I should purchase which can be compatible with the AMD quadcore processor. Also in future if my processor doesnt work well can I purchase I7 processor or not. Want to know that. This is my system config.
So Guys please let me knw asap bcoz all other parts are just working fine except the motherboard it seems.
While installing all this stuff the computer closed automatically 3-4 times on its own.
No you cannot upgrade from an AMD Phenom compatible motherboard to an Intel Core i-series processor. It is either you stick to AMD build OR upgrade the complete system now [instead of just replacing the motherboard].
Also finding a compatible AM2 / AM2+ motherboard will be a difficult affair [if not very expensive] but the major issue will be your RAM as it is DDR II and current standard being DDR III and it is proposed that by mid-2013 DDR-4 will be put into serial production.
Just a word of advice, why don't you run a few tests to clear all your components of doubt --
1) MemTest86+ to test your RAM for any errors, download it from here and run the full 11 passes to clear any doubt from the RAM;
2) Try to run a CHDSK operation on your hard-drive to see if any bad-sectors are present.
Hope this answers your query and a rapid recovery of your system. Cheerio!!
What does closed imply? Did the system restart? Did it throw a BSOD?
This could be a case of the processor overheating or a faulty memory stick(s).
Closed imply means when using any program to browse, It gets automatically closed in between like say after 3 hrs or 5 hrs random closing. No BSOD or any error or anything as such.
Alpha, I don't understand about this sleeping thing. If you can do a remote session on my computer then you can find it out. I would be grateful to u if u can help me out. Now 24 hrs has passed and still the MEMTEST is running and its 6084.5% coverage and 0 errors still now.
Please let me know how much more time would it take to complete this test for just 2gb RAM.
You don't need to run that test for 24 hrs
