I am already have a PC with following config:

Q6600, Biostar p35 mobo, 2 x 1gb 800, 320gb sataII, Viewsonic VX2255wmh and xfx 8600 gt.

Viewsonic have two inputs, Analog and Digital.

I am in the plan to setup a download rig (24/7)

Can i use the download rig with my monitor by using the analog which is already connected with my rig by digital?

This may cause any problem?

Also, tell me the config for VFM download rig based on INTEL & Amd!!!!!

well best will be to scavenge the Market section and get the cheapest proccy + mobo + ram and some large HDDs....
well i am plannin to build one myself..... got myself 2 80 gb HDDs and will use it in a PIII 550 Mhz system with 128 mb ram :bleh:.....

it will be a headless...download rig ....shall me starting a thread soon planning the entire build and for suggestions....

If its for only downloading, nothing beats the Intel Atom (D945GCLF, 1.6Ghz) priced @ 3.5k. Throw in a Gb of Ram for another 1k, cabinet + smps @ 1.5k, hard disc acc. to ur need. You can usuage the VGA out and connect it to ur LCD, can change b/w Analog and Digital w/o any issues :)

There you go , vfm + extreme low power download rig ;)

Intel atom @ 3.5 is still on the higher side.. coz 1.8 celeron+Nvidia 7050 is available for 3.6k . Think the price will come down sooner than later :)

Nope; :bleh:

There're even other options which'll yield better results!!! :p

The Cel 420 + a Biostar 7050 board = 3.5k!! Yields better results for the same price;

[And the D945GCLF board has only 2 measly SATA ports!! Where'll you plug the rest if u really want a 1-2 TB storage space as a d/l rig??? :p]

Besides, not every local cabinet out there can support the ITX form factor I believe;

Power consumption may be on the slightly higher side though;

I already havan "grabbit" (So no for D945GCLF) . So please suggest me an normal ATX's.

And any AMD model's within 3500 -- power saving

I have the Viewsonic 1926w wch has 2 input ports dvi nd analog

my pc is connected via dvi
nd tv tuner via analog (d-sub)

u can switch b/w the 2 inputs by pressing the no.2 button on the monitor.... :hap2: :hap2:

Does the Atom cpus demand a newer PSU or they run on the existing ones available in the market. Coz if we use a 450 watt psu with Atom inside it would be of no use spending for a green pc.

dude a 450W PSU wont consume 450 W all the time. it will be dependent on the load, so if you lose an atom setup, the load , and consequently the power draw will be lesser. not as low as a high efficiency Green PSU, but still lower than a conventional setup running off the 450W supply
