hey guys

first i don't know why this happens to me, second it just happens:hap2: .

me bought a 6800gt from sathyanaidu for 5.5k, the day i installed it on my sys im having problems, it just overheats. any game u play it plays good for 15min and just restarts the whole system. i spoke to him he says the card is fried ,ie i fried it. i asked him back, if the card is fried why would it boot up and go into a game and play for 15 min and then quits? he doesn't answer this. all he says is " i don't wanna argue".

common guys is it logical? i have a 450watts true power psu, and i even changed AS5 still it aint working, now is the card is faulty or i fried it? :@ i even placed two 80mm fans to blow air on it. it still overheats and i send the card back to him he says it overheats buts its my problem.COMMON DUDE.

i traded with avi_avadhut a 6600gt but i don't have any complaints. but this u have GUYS to say

Sad to know..but i think, with electronic stuff there is always a possibility of this issue..especially if it happens to be second hand...either it was damaged from the beginning or got screwed during transit...there are a lot of possibilities...once you hand over the money to the concerned guy, you just cannot blame him(or atleast he will not take the blame..:P ) its always better to get the stuff checked properly b4 u commit ur money...once u pay for it, it means u r satisfied with it, so you bought it...the other guy will never accept tht it was faulty from the beginning...he'll always blame you...:hap5:

Thrs always a 50-50 chance with a second hand product..its just ur luck..thts why, even if u have to pay a bit more, always get brand new stuff from a reputed shop so tht u can smack their a$$ if the thing conks off..;)

http://www.techenclave.com/forums/gainward-2400ultra-for-6k-89986.html

this is the thread, he said the card is working great, but from the moment i placed it in my system and started Testdrive unlimited. i cant play it for more than 15 mins. i tried it on my friends system too, same thing for SC:CT and SC:DA. common guys if the card is fried how would it bootup and play for 15 min? it has overclocking problems and he sold it to me with that problem.

What do u mean by overclocking problems.

The crash could be because of various issues. Card can be faulty. Can be driver bug ( oh yeah very brutal reality of nvidia driver support :@ ), could be PSU issue. Could be chipset driver problem.

Tell you what, do this.

install latest rivatuner.

Download rthdribl. And run it while monitoring GPU clocks and temps.

See when it crashes or what limit temps are reaching.

And seller did say 1 week testing period.

Hello,

A problem that should have never occurred at the first place, seems to me that this post is all about credibility.

In simple terms I have been forced to reply here. I would like to add a few pics to show the actual proceedings,

1) I send the card and get a reply saying that the card is working "perfectly" fine.

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f348/sathyanaidu/wtf2.jpg

2) Then I come across a post which clearly states that the poster is "satisfied" with the overclocked 6800 GT and

suggests others to buy the same card as well.

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f348/sathyanaidu/oc1.jpg

(It is a general assumption that the poster doesnt own "another" 6800GT which was being OCed)

3) Then as a reply to whether he did OC the card the personal message that I get is a simple no OC at all.

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f348/sathyanaidu/notoc1.jpg

It is very simple issue of atleast being truthful when you reply. (I have used the card for a year and a half without a

single overheating problem).

Speaking about being logical and not arguing, there is no point in arguing with a person who can't even give me the facts as

they are.

I have traded a 3000+ 939 pin proc with nukeu666(really sorry to mention your name here dude) and he can surely tell anyone who wants to verify that he has not had one iota of a problem.

With regards to this post I am sorry to even having replied in this manner and definitely hope this isnt and doesnt turn into

a mud slinging contest that the Topic Starter seems to want.

Regards,

Sathya Naidu

PS: I request the mods to check our logs in case a reference is needed.

Exactly and i contacted him within ONE day, i tried everything funky i have a 450watt true power and tested it on my friends system who has a 620watt corsair stiil the same thing. my board is intel and his is ASUS same problem. i used two fans to blow on it, changed three drivers like 97.xx, 72.12,77.77(best driver known for 6800gt), 82.12 (best known IQ driver), still the same thing.

that was the for the card is detected and its booting up nothing to do with overheating does it?

well u said it yourself that u oc'd the card at 380 and i did the exact same, if it worked two days before why cant it work in my system with same 380 core he mentioned?

http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u107/kainra/sat.png

http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u107/kainra/sat1.png

in the thread above this he said he overclocked to 380 and played for 4hours and in the second one hes asking "did u oc it?"

read it guys.

even i traded with avi_avadhut(sorry to mention u too man) anyone can ask him, my payment was prompt and the card worked great. but the problem is with the card u sold me not with the procy u sold to someone else.

All the disputes in market section is to taken to the moderator first then if it doesnt get solved .Please post here so that we can have some entertainment.:P

Seriously the way things are going ,I think we need a dedicated dispute resolving moderator for the market section.

There you go, you just established the fact that you DID lie in the message and YES we are talking about this GPU and not the procy. It is very simple that when one lies in such a blatant manner there is no surity that the OCing did not stop at the said level.

When a person says he OCed the card and recommends it to others it is generally assumed that the card WORKS FINE without a problem.

A small suggestion when one posts or wants to add to a previous post it would be easier for people to follow if he would "quote".

i meant i didn't over clock the card before applying the AS5.

then so DID the seller lied, he said he never overclocked it, but he said in the previous PM that he's running the card at 380 all along. now is that the equivalent of E=MC^2?

no switch, this aint under nothing, but he said of a 1 week testing warranty, now he is backing out on that.

@Switch

The card is not under warranty from the manufacturer as specified throughout the deal.

@memnom

The one week personal warranty was for running the card at default clocks and its more than obvious that the warranty doesnt cover OCing a used card not under warranty

@Sathya naidu

u said that u run the card at 380 all along and isnt that overclocking? and even though like u said i overclock too much (which i didnt) i cant go more than 420MHZ which the card can take easily thats why it is costlier than the other GT's. and if it ran fine at 380 on urs then it should run fine at mine too. or lets say if my sys is faulty, will even my friends system be faulty?

common man the card is FAULTY and u know that.

No point pointing fingers...

Man couldnt you let the card run at defaults even for 1 day?

Try to get it working...What else can be done...

we dont 'moderate' disputes. te market is just a platform , everything else is between seller and buyer . but for future benefit of others we have a rating and feedback system

I will quote what you have posted in the original thread which you created in the market section...

Closed the previous deal, wanted to make a new one, with the lowered price, interested people, PM.

The card is in very good condition, original box and all its contents intact, no OC'in done. You can test the card for problems for a week..

Reason For Sale : Shifting to PCI-E.

Gainward 6800GT 2400/Ultra Golden Sample - Page 1 - Introduction

What i have highlited in bolds is also hat was specified in the deal in the first place and it was a false fact so the whole deal becomes void then and there if the card was overclocked...

Now did you or didn't you overclock the card...

P.S. This isnt a Mod but a senior member of TE talking to you....
