Maybe there are dozens of weaker mutations too but human immune systems are wiping them out quickly so there's not even much community spread.
The stronger, more persistent and widespread ones get all the media attention, so to speak...

Both Ivermectin and HCQ were regarded as safe medicines (HCQ was prescribed as a prophylaxis to even pregnant women traveling to malaria infested areas) for a long time. As soon as Covid came along, they suddenly became unsafe!
In a situation where vaccines are in short supply and will be in short supply for a long time, Ivermectin which has shown results in some studies and no side effects and also cheap should be prescribed.
It is bad science by WHO and I suspect influenced by big Pharma

The problem is not the medicine but rather the dosage for COVID treatment. Using a medicine for treating a case for which it was not tested properly can screwn you up.
Why You Should Not Use Ivermectin to Treat or Prevent COVID-19
Using the Drug ivermectin to treat COVID-19 can be dangerous and even lethal. The FDA has not approved the drug for that purpose.
Think of it this way..... You can take 1 sleeping pill for a good night's sleep and you can take 10 to kick the bucket.

CoWin is not mandatory, one can carry Aadhar or other valid IDs to a PHC / government hospital and get the vaccine for free.
CoWin allows appointment booking for private and govt hospitals, the price at the centre one is booking a slot for is shown, one can opt for private /government run hospitals. Multiple persons can be added under a single mobile number, this basically gives you a document showing you were vaccinated with details like kind of vaccine and date.
It was known earlier that vaccines don't provide 100% protection against virus variants, this is the reason we take a flu vaccine in dense tech parks every year. Vaccines prevent severe disease as the immune system has some additional time to respond due to presence of antibodies.
Govt stopping Ivermectin makes no sense, increasing evidence points toward it being quite effective. This whole drama of Center telling the states to procure their own vaccines when there was no supply and taking back the reins when supply situation began improving is cunning and pathetic.

HCQS always had risks of some pretty serious side effects and with covid, the presumed gains were far outweighed by the risks. That's why they recommended against the usage. And hey, even gin and tonic was a prophylactic against malaria back in the day.
It was mostly Trump ranting nonsense as usual about the benefits of HCQS. I don't remember any decent doctors actually recommending it. The media just makes a new breaking news headline one day and then the rest of the world thinks it's gospel truth.

Almost every newspaper love to quote WHO from totally out of context things.
Very few people are actually there in WHO's payroll, manpower wise it's one of the smallest organization.
Each and everyone working "for WHO" in India has no direct relation with us...NONE!!
There are actually....don't care about news reports ( they are mostly misleading) but there are absolutely HUGE database available for Moderna as they started early and documented everything ( it was given to most of health care workers in Europe except UK)
Regarding Ivermectin, please read up what is actually going on...
Ivermectin acts by inhibiting the host importin alpha/beta-1 nuclear transport proteins, which are part of a key intracellular transport process that viruses hijack to enhance infection by suppressing the host’s antiviral response.
In addition, ivermectin docking may interfere with the attachment of the spike protein to the human cell membrane. Ivermectin is thought to be a host-directed agent, which may be the basis for its broad-spectrum activity in vitro against the viruses that cause dengue, Zika, HIV, and yellow fever.
Point me to a single proper article with in-vivo studies showing definite efficacy.
There is NONE actually. We are not idiots working for WHO. Ivermectin has been used long enough in India and not a single proper convincing study is published yet.
And WHO has no authority to put ban on any medicine ( it can only recommend)
It was AIMS/ ICMR or both who included Ivermectin and Azithromycin in their guidelines ( based on in vitro studies)
When no real clinical study still can't conclude they are effective, they have every reason to withdraw it.
It's on ICMR ( not WHO) who can't even design a single drug efficacy trial after months of using the drug on millions of clueless people.
None of us used Ivermectin to 2500 people we treated yet in Kolkata and our mortality / progression from moderate to severe disease is no better/ worse than the 3 largest corporate hospitals in the same city ( Apollo, AMRI and Medica)
I have a very bad news, WHO may clear Covaxin under emergency situation by 24th of this month ( or by 14th July) BUT many European countries and possibly US won't consider Covaxin recipients as vaccinated and won't allow entry to their countries.
I'm not 100 percent sure about this news, but at least some countries are going to do it.
And it's really unfortunate, Covaxin is really not that different from Sinopharm vaccine, and it's nor exactly a medical decision. 56 incher is going to to have a hard time soon ( unless he starts do some real work ASAP)
