Here in Moga-Punjab DTDC service is worst.They stole my 900/- worth item purchased from ebay.Thanks to paisa pay for refunding money but my seller had loss due to horrible DTDC service.
And when i tried to enquire how parcel could be lost they easily produced address of DTDC head office for clamming refund.
This parcel safely arrived from mumbai to moga and here according to DTDC misplaced/lost by delivery man in coming back from delivery because my house was locked. They did not even had shame on incident.Approximate cost of product was 900/- think if they do same with i7 based CPU/ GPU worth 10k/20k.There is no place for us when they simply say sir your parcel Misplaced/Lost.There is clearly written on consignment memo that no responsibility for Lost/Damage .

DTDC are playing the blame game, Mumbai office says take the matter with Delhi office, and Delhi office are saying vice-versa. Its like 650 bucks wasted (thank goodness had not ordered an expensive video card or so..). But, the pathetic courier service has changed my mind of buying anything from non brick and mortar shops. Dont mind paying a couple of hundred bucks extra, but at least will get the stuff...

same here ...he uses the slowest possible method via dtdc ad when i enquired ..he say he has another fast option on ebay..when there is no such option...thank god i got my dvd's atleast.:mad:
 
TNT is the best afaik. DTDC tracking is crap. It's saying "Out for delivery" for 2 days now . When i call them to pick up from their office they say the package is out for delivery total BS

DTDC south is very good, I mostly used DTDC and never missed or got delayed anything else.
 
Damn that's sad! But seldom do DTDC have breakdowns like these. Or at least that was the case with me.

But they've failed on an occasion when I wanted a conked card to reach Fraeky @ Chennai which was sort of very urgent and the consignment was sent using DTDC+ (which was supposed to be delivered within the next 24hrs!). The card reached 2 days later.

But otherwise their service seems to be decent. Not as expensive as Blue Dart either.
 
this is for ALL of you.

The biggest reason why your mileage varies with these agencies is because they are highly dependent on the guy who delivers the thing to you. he can sit on it, he can claim he never got it, make you come to his place to pick it up, or do his job. so I'd say get how the local franchiees for the various agencies in your city are , through this thread or te guys in your city, who have TAKEN DELIVERY of stuff through the same courier.

I have sent items worth about 8K with DTDC normal shipping, declaring the item cost correctly and clearly. (Delhi, kerala, Rajasthan, JharKhan) No issues with anything.

Every courier has those clauses.
That doesnt make the courier companies free from all responsibility. If they loose it due to their negligence, they have to pay for the declared cost. If its gets damaged, its more complex.
But, if you cant trust the delivery guys, there is a shipping insurance that can be used.
BTW DTDC plus comes with enhanced lost item protection, seller can ask for the declared amount to be given back. In case he did declare in correctly.

Today I have shipped my 1TB seagate Ext HDD with box from Hyd to Mumbai...DTDC charged 300/-:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: (No insurance)

Is it the right price?

She said, its 150/kg and the box is more than 1Kg. IF anything is 1kg to 2Kg, they charge it as 2Kg..is it right?

here in pune most times these guys try to send anything electroinics via dtdc blue/plus. blue/plus has a higher cost structure than the normal dtdc service and comes with the a service commitment of 2 business days. might be they have sent it across using that.

for 1. something kilo. they will round off to 2 kgs.

I am from Hyderabad, for any metro's it will be Rs.70 or 80/KG, they have overcharged you. You should have gone directly to DTDC office instead of vendor.

No, these DTDC vendors are very bad, once I suffered, they charge more than normal price, only we have to go directly to DTDC franchise. It was there in srinivas nagar colony and some other places, you can find out through 23771000.
 
Guys, which is the best service for sending electronic item, weighing around 4-5 kgs from Chandigarh to Mumbai?

What are the rates of DTDC and BlueDart for the same?

Unprofessional and ill-mannered. They don't even wait for 10 minutes for you to verify if the octroi has been paid by the dealer.
They refused to hand over my LCD monitor in-spite of receiving an email from their head office that the octroi charges have been received.

Rough handling. My LCD was broken. They still haven't given me a claim.

DTDC/BlueDart/TNT are pretty strong and equivalent in service here.So, being the cheapest of the lot,DTDC shud be fine.Just make sure u pack it with bubble wrappers and a couple layers of thermocoal before despatching.
