Hello Techies :hap2:

Am i need of ur help again .

This time suggest me a CPU cooler ! ( this will be an upgrade from my existing AMD stock cooler ).

USAGE/Req : Tiny OCing , 24x7 at times, low Noise levels.

Cooler required for my AMD BE Phenom II X 4 955 . am on stock cooler now, have under volt the CPU due to the temps n noise :(

My Cabinet is NZXT LEXA S. My Mobo is GIGABYTE ma785gm-us2h .

Suggest a cooler for $ 60 ( 3k ) from newegg.com or Tigerdirect.com. :ashamed:

I was thinking of going for Corsair A70 ( Newegg.com - CORSAIR CAFA70 120mm Dual-Fan CPU Cooler )

Thank-you :cool2:

Yep, although its aging its still a good performer, the CM Hyper 212+. Get it going with a push-pull fan arrangement and you can easily hit 4.0 GHz on your 955BE. Excellent value for money.

If you can spend 20$ more then buy Noctua NH-U12P SE2 ~ 80$

Newegg.com - Noctua NH-U12P SE2 120mm SSO CPU Cooler

You are looking for a Cooler which should perform well and shouldn't make noise right? Then look no further and buy Noctua NH-U12P SE2 coz the fans with which Noctua NH-U12P SE2 comes are dead silent fans... You would hardly hear any noise... Hyper 212+ is a good cooler too but the fan which comes along with it makes noise...

Thank you for the suggestions. Any more models ? Will try hitting the Noctua, but its high though :(

Howz the Corsair one, n the reviews of Hyper 212+ looks promising will keep in mind :) and what FANS would do justice with the CM HYPER 212+ ?

Guys help me !!! If CM Hyper 212+ is a good choice then i'll get it Tomorrow ?

well, i got myself a hyper 212+ 2 weeks back, n overclocked my x6 1055t to 3.6ghz. now running stable at 3.5ghz without touching the voltage :) . frankly speaking, i am impressed by it's performance, it's definately bang for the buck, and the fan which comes along with it doesnt make any sound ,.... NOTHING at all... getting 52deg celsius(A DROP OF 17-20 DEG CELSIUS FROM THE STOCK COOLER ) max on v core at full load at 3.6 at an insane room temp of 32 deg celsius :P , i stay in mumbai and tested it in the afternoon :O
hope this helps :)

OHH, sorry , forgot to mention, it was running on push pull configuration, with CM blue led 120mm fan (sickle flow, i guess ) on the push side....;)

guys,

i have got some unusual experience with this cooler.

i have athlon x4 635 at stock.

no overclosking but it still makes quite a lot of noise.

speed fan says its running at 1700 rpm and temp of 40 c.

but its noise is audible at night.

cooler is on stock fan.

which fan you suggest which will have adequate air flow and still very minimal noise?

my case is nzxt gamma.

^ Thanks Alpha... Would a Hydro cooling do good ?

The Corsair ones ?
The Hydro series radiator fans on ageing start whining on the higher side, so simply put avoid + the H50 would be outdone by a good air-based cooler such as the Noctua NH-U12P SE2 which might be expensive but fits your bill -- super silent, awesome cooling @justified pricing.

What TIM(Thermal Interface Material -- CPU Paste) are you using?

Please don't hijack threads like this later.

The BladeMaster does get noisy as it ages. Check out the Cooler MAster SickleFlow LED 1900 RPM fans ~ 450/- (for a 120mm fan in whichever color you want). http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=4375

Finally got the cooler :). ( 212 + ). with gr8 difficulty installed it accurately .

Now the idle temps are 36. and load are at 55. Is this Good ?

even after like intense gaming session, like Crysis warhead , GTA IV BFBC2 the temps stayed below 55 :D.

I've installed just 1 fan. am thinking of going for the push full config 2 fans :D.

Thanks all for your much needed help :D .

installl those silent fans.as you are going for two.

thats nice temp.

did you put tim?

i hit max 52 on my rig.

^ Yeah i applied adequate TIM , the CM one that came with the package.

I gotta do some cable management and my cab is placed in a dungeon :P

Very good temperature figures, since its the summers and inspite of your messy cable management :P. Take care of that and place the cabinet in a more open space and you should see better results. Temps should also fall down a few notches once the TIM spreads and settles down.

How are the noise levels ?

^ Thanks :).

the noise levels ? wat noise i dont hear em' :P ( thats how it is ).

My stock HSF would buzz like a space shuttle , this one is cool and quite :D. I'll go for the CM R4 fans ( red one ).

try gettin a couple of CM R4's or Xtraflow.....damn silent.....or get another blademaster....

Guys, now a new issue .

Previously i had undervolted my CPU from stock voltage to ( - 0.125 ) . . . Now i've again reset it to run on stock voltage settings,

and after a few mins of BFBC2 , Crysis GTA IV the temps sky rocketed to 64 :( . I have not OC'ed it, everything is in stock now :( but why 64 ?

Should i revert to old settings ? will i notice any performance issue if undervolted ?

^^ Try reverting to the previous settings, see what you get. Try reapplying the TIM, if reverting doesn't help.

^ it works , after reverting to the old setting, ( 0.125 ) it works . TEMPS sail btwn 37-55 :D.

But when i load the stock voltage settings , it starts again :S .

So whats the issue here ?
