CPU/Mobo Cpu temp ~ 99 degrees

Okay, I would need to wait till tomorrow to speak to them since todays a sunday.

I noticed slight reduction in temp (about 10 deg) after turning off turbo boost in the bios.

The temp maxed out at 88 deg now.

And also I am experiencing the most high temps while playing battlefield badcompany 2. Dunno why this is so.

I tried reducing the resolution and changing to med quality but again it didnt help.

Update from my friend.

His MSI X460DX i5, had similar issue a week back. No matter what, his temps were always +60c idle and on gaming it reaches 95+ and even 103c.

Msi did everything from bios update to replacing every heatsink and even fans and internal cleaning and what not. And after 1.5 months of severe struggle it was found that his mobo temperature sensors were at fault which was causing all the confusion inside. He got a brand new laptop as replacement and now all temps are below 65c even while gaming.

Figure out the same in your case too.

Thanks alot for the info. When the technician applied the thermal paste, I believe there were parts left out and air gaps in between.

When I again called up technical support they were telling me to update the bios even though they know it's the latest which I'm running.

Also how does bios update gonna solve a temp issue?

The BIOS will help in the fan profile gradient that is it. They are crapping to you.

My friend also has the dell laptop and yesterday called me to tell me that his laptop restarts automatically while playing games, but does not do so while daily browsing.

And the worst part is that his warranty ended 4 days ago!

all I want to say by posting this is that is dell crapping out on it's components lately?

Hey Sire,

Sorry to hear this terrible news. By the way who did you speak to for 2 Hours, if you can put this stuff on their fb page it will provoke them into reacting. Also if possible try to speak to some higher authority the lower down support guys are least bothered to help their compatriots. A firaang talks to these guys and they are ready to bend over double for their problems.

Best of luck and hope this helped, Cheers!!

Talked to some guy named "zia". I told I am not satisfied but nothing helped. Even I talked to his supervisor. The supervisor told he dont believe in some 3rd party software. Also I even showed this page to him, still in vain.

Supervisor even told me to come to dell office which I denied since it is his duty to make sure my laptop gets replaced or fixed by sending a technician.

You will have to talk to the area General Manager OR somebody high-up in the Sales / Service department. I am sorry I do not have any contacts in Dell, otherwise I would have gladly directed you.

By the way do try the fb thing, in both cases, attach proof in the form of the temperature screen-shot from CoreTemp, highlight the temperatures using ScreenMarker. Take a screenshot of your fb post and start spamming on every Dell associated fb page [preferable Dell India]. Hopefully this extreme tactic will force them to reconsider your 'exceptional' case.

Best of luck, Cheers!!

Consider this offer, but ask him to provide any logistical aid that you need as it is his responsibility, I support you on this point. If this doesn't help then only go all out against Dell.

Thanks mate. Hope it gets resolved soon. But the problem is that they dont believe in softwares like coretemp and hwmonitor. It's so sick that millions of ppl are using it and dell support is just denying the accuracy of the application.

btw, posted my issue in dell india fb page.

Ask him if he does not believe in these these third-part sensor software, does Dell have any software that can record temperatures and the like if he says yes. Ask him for a requisite link, download the software, record your temperatures and if it turns out to be still peaking in the 90°C region, give the Supervisor a what for.

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

When asked, he cannot give any dell certified software to measure temp. Even the option isnt present in the bios .

He was telling if the system overheated it should have shut down which it didnt occur in my case.

Gee... I am sorry Sire, I cannot help you further, let other members pitch in their views. Cheers!!

i suggest you to visit the dell office, as they have offered. There you can show them the temps for real. Show them temps using multiple application, they might believe it

What is DELL saying, let the laptop run at 99C...?

In the essence, yes Sire.

i suggest you to visit the dell office, as they have offered. There you can show them the temps for real. Show them temps using multiple application, they might believe it

I too advised OP the same but logistical aid has to be provided by Dell, not the other way round.

Then do this.......or

take it in writing from them, that you can continue to run at 99C. And jack them on all portals and forums.

Why not just plaster this stuff on Dell India and Intel India fb pages respectively. Hot potatoes, definitely will force the hands of these companies, OR atleast Dell will be forced to act as he will be bad mouthing their cool products.

@OP:

Try contacting Intel India. It is their core. If they can confirm temperatures are way to high (as per any software); DELL will have to buy it too.

Add on:

Can you run CoreTEMP, during a game and let it monitor/log temperatures for all cores. I think it creates a .CSV file. Post a screenshot of that here also. If you can.
