Want to buy a sedan in range 15-16lakhs in diesel. Came across these 3 in my budget. I am a bit tempted towards chevy because of interiors+exteriors+power. What do you guys think should i go for that? If not, please provide a reason. Which one is best among these three?

Man, I would vote for Chevvy.. Awesome car from out side. Feels powerful, heavy, strong, muscular etc.
Note: I am not a ower nor test driven it. Just viewed from out side.

The Cruze's 2l engine puts out 163 bhp. Pretty sure the Laura, Jetta or even the new Elantra can't match that power.

cruze has cramped rear space. not so good mileage for a diesel. Laura is good in its TSI (petrol) version if you have faith in skoda that is.jetta has some identity crisis on the front though :P

laura's one of the best cars to be owned .. agreed, its little on the higher side, but pl, if u're able to buy a 19L car, dont thing you would care much about the maintenance costs..
to be honest, i find it even better than the idiotic bmw 3 series !! and more comfortable than the 5 series

skoda is known for their powerful diesel engines and power, why on earth would someone buy a petrol variant !!

My 2 cents:

Jetta: An overpriced compromise between the Laura and the Vento. With as expensive spares as the Laura, and much less features. Not recommended at all.
Cruze: A great car for those who want to keep the maintenence cost in control. Excellent front seats and worst rear seats for this segment. Packed with features, a VFM option. A soft ride meant for 2 people hitting the highway.
Laura: A super german masterpiece which simply blows the competition out of the water in terms of build quality, handling and interiors. After TDing a Laura and sitting in it for a while, you'll find the Cruze's interior and handling very plasticky. A firm ride which is unrealistically amazing on curvy roads but not so comfortable on bumpy ones. Maintenance cost and service cost can be unexpectedly high if the dealer wishes for it. So if you are ready to spend less now (as compared to Jetta) and spend more later (unexpected maintanence costs), then a good option.

Edit: @webgupta: Laura TSI is for hardcore perfomance enthusiasts. If thrown on a track, it would make every diesel car under 50Lakh bite dust.

Yup, the Laura L&K is a different car altogether. It surprises you with it's finesse and luxurious features.

When put face-to-face, it asks the BMW 3-Series, "What the hell are you bragging about beamer? Ever heard about dynamic auto-leveling xenons in a car half-the-price?" :D

Edit: And Yeti is a better car than XUV5oo in terms of build quality. For reference, check out this Top Gear review. Lol, Jeremy compares it to a Maybach!
