@at all those regretting: Wait for the patch. After that hackers wouldn't be there anymore.....hopefully.

But why the heck they didn;t use BC2 style MP protection ? Its the most secure Mp mode out there, i mean, no pirates an enter. :@

Flip the switch on the card and switch back to the stock 6950 2GB settings. A crash could possibly be because you've it unlocked to a 6970. Revert back with the results.
The problem got solved when i restarted the campaign... :) And BTW i am running HD6950 at stock clock (locked) only... i only tried to unlock it for experimental purpose... I would unlock it again if a more GPU intensive game would launch which my HD6950 wouldn't be able to handle... :)... Thanks for the suggestion though...

I really appreciated it... :)

Downloads - Summary - Crysis2Configv5.1 | Rush-Zone

....this one is a much better launcher...getting about 45Fps...
me too getting 43fps insides and 29-32fps outsides using the EXCLUSIVE insane settings.

truthfully speaking, I just didn't find any visual difference while playing to justify such frame rate drops. I got 52fps using my config at the same scene where I got 32fps with this one(max) and the visual difference was not noticable at all.

Maybe if I zoomed in, but hardly what I'm going to do while playing...

Just started playing.....BTW the MP is awesome!

Maxed out on my rig... i.e EXTREME settings with 1920x1080 res>>The game looks really cool visually

What part was difficult?

Lots of stuff was explained pretty vaguely, how the invasion began. What happened between the invasion and the aftermath? To whom does the Nano suit team even report to? Nature of the aliens. etc etc idk. It sort of looked like the devs took a "can't convince them? confuse them" approach.

The plot seemed quite clear to me. Some impossible coincidences but which game or action movie doesnt have them? Of course, it left a few questions unanswered which I am sure will be dealt with in Crysis 3. There's also a gap between Crysis and Crysis 2 just like there was a gap between Psycho leaving and returning in Crysis. Could be an expansion to fit in there like Warhead?

1) Invasion as in the Lingsham incident or the attack on New York? For New York, there never was an invasion. It all started with the Ceph virus, in the middle of that chaos alien ships appeared and they started attacking. At the end you come to know that the alien ceph were based under New York all along (probably explaining their origins and why they were different in appearance to the lingsham aliens)
2) The Nano suit team were earlier under the US government (Crysis 1 and Warhead) although in this game they seem to be reporting to Crynet (mainly Hargrives) ... although Prophet went AWOL.
3) As Hargrives said, the nature of the aliens were to take back their land. The aliens were a prehistoric species.

Although I agree with you that it is a bit disappointing and vague to not hear a word from any of the main characters of the original Crysis. Although my guess is that they died because of what Prophet said - "We (as in Prophet, Nomad, Psycho....) were dead men walking". So perhaps they were all infected and dying anyways.

Or maybe we're going to have a kick-ass Nomad-Psycho-Alcatraz Crysis 3 :D

Just to clarify - the US Marines contracted Hargreave-Rasch to built nanosuits. It is owned by Hargreave-Rasch but "rented" to the US Marines (thru US government of course). Hargreave convinced everyone it was just merely a hi-tech suit, much like buying a Scar rifle, whereas he knew all along it would be a vital organic, biological force against the impending Ceph crisis. So, once Prophet goes AWOL from the US Marines, and is basically "taken over" by the nanosuit, he's forced to seek out Hargreave. Even through Crysis 2 it's quite clear Hargreave and the Marines are COMPLETELY at odds. Right at the end, the other co-inventor Rasch steps up, and that is who the nanosuits would report to in Crysis 3.

The nanosuit's organic functions assimilates with the humans inside it - so the men inside over time become a part of the nanosuit itself. You can't separate the man from the machine. ("dead men walking") Hence, "post-human" warrior. It is not true that they are dying or dead - it is just that they will die if they were separated from the nanosuit. And what Hargreave didn't anticipate was two men sharing the same nanosuit, as in Prophet and Alcatraz, and the effect that would have in terms of the assimilation. Because, the nanosuit has become an extension to Prophet's identity, and Alcatraz jumps in. The ending was really cool in that sense, and found an effective loophole to the personal persistence theories in philosophy. (i.e what makes a man the same man over different times)

Also, I have a feeling the ending set up for a truly epic Crysis 3 where we might get to travel around the world, COD style, except each of these places will have their own worlds, rather than just a corridor. Truly can't wait for it!

Overall, it is a cool plot, and definitely one of the better in games. I am quite surprised that it is being criticized in many places where as stuff like COD is acclaimed for their stories... baffling to me.

You call this plot cool? Story Telling has never been the strong point for games. It's been a while since I played a game in which the plot compels me to finish the game, just so I can know what comes next. I mean if you are looking for a good plot, a good story computer games are certainly not what you should be spending your time on.
Crysis 2 was mediocre at best. The urban jungle wasn't really appealing. Power mode was made "easier" so console players found it easier to use. And as far as the plot is concerned...the Reapers from Mass Effect, aren't they the same thing? Plus by the end of the game I was tired of following orders. Seriously, every guy and his dog were ordering me to go around and do their chores. Lack of enemy variety made the game even boring. Hargreave bore strong resemblance to Mr. House from Fallout 3 New Vegas. What happened to the others...Nomad, Psycho? What baffled me even more was that the US Military decided to use nukes again, that worked out real well the first time didn't it?

I agree Rogues, design, atmosphere and gameplay are the main reasons why I play games. The only game where I genuinely was captibated by the plot was GTA IV, and that's about it. But definitely for the standard of plots in games, I think Crysis 2 is above average. Definitely a lot better than COD and all its clones.

Aliens in fiction is nothing new, but Mass Effect is a very poor example - Crysis came around the same time as Mass Effect for starters! Yes, both are inspired by previous works of science fiction obviously. Much like every game is to be frank inspired by similar movies or novels of the respective genre. Communicating through a computerized life support unit is again nothing new and while there is resemblance to Mr. House, let's not forget the story for Crysis 2 was written way before F:NV was released, so that is purely co-incidental. Something I think that is genuinely cool is the personal persistence twist - it is one of the most interesting things I have ever seen in a game. There some things unexplained, but I definitely like that aspect. I was worried that they would try to put in more superficial links to the first one, and even Strickland's daughter being there put me off. Thank god Psycho and Nomad and co. weren't around. But I am sure there will be an expansion and of course Crysis 3 that will inevitably shed some light into it. That's the thing - Crysis 2 is a part of a bigger story. About the nuke - yes, it seemed totally out of place - but I recognized that it as the sphere that reacted with the nuke in the first Crysis and there was no sphere here. There are many such holes in logic, but in that case even Star Wars has even bigger holes.

One thing that I found interesting is that all the biped alien enemies seem to be the same at first but actually I counted there are 4 different types which look the same.
