^^ ofcourse its gonna have that what else is "Crap-tek" (Sorry any crytek fanboi.) known for?
Except bringing GPU to their knees, with over the top graphics, just hope it is at least more scalable than "CRY-SYS.tem"
PS.... before I hurt anyones sentiments, I like crytek for bringing great graphics and good AI to the table,
but hate 'em for shitty coding, and "Overdoing" it. Even todays Single CPU and single GPU solution can't play the game at max and its been over two years since its launch !!! I dont think there has be any otjher game in History that even after two years after release can't be played smoothly with 45+FPS, by a half Decent Gaming machine.
These were teh Recommended Specs at the time of release, and compare it to today machines:
CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
Graphics: Nvidia 7800GTX/ATI X1800XT (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
RAM: 1.5GB
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX10 with Windows Vista
Com'n Crytek, why do you make us upgrade our PC's everytime you guys release a game?
its not too hard to release a game with anything "Over the top." Its easy to code a high level of AI, its easy to code crazy Graphics but its is very hard to make it optimal for the users, or at least the code should run fine on a majority of System, and should not be only accessible to a handful of users. No matter what anyone says Crytek is a fairly young company, compared to major game developing companies and will learn a lot for other players in the market.
EA (though I dislike them to for other reasons.) look at them all their games are very scalable at least most of them. Or they will not release the code for a platform if they feel that the tech is inadequate, eg. is FIFA 2010, it is so very different on a PS3 than on a PC, cause according to EA only a handful of gaming PC's could run the code, if it was directly ported from the PS3 or XBOX code. (I will find the link to this comment and post it for reference.) They did not make the same game cause it would not run optimally, I believe Crytek should have done the same.
Still looking forward to Crysis 2, to see if I get above 10 FPS on my current rig. That would in itself be an achievement for Crytek.
IMO.
