Watched it. Wish I had taken the OP's advice. Didn't interest me one bit. Good music and visuals isn't reason enough for me to call it a decent movie. I actually had to struggle a lot to sit through it.

Great movie i would say 7/10 from me. The movie introduces you to the pot-pourri that is Delhi 6. The slick editing in the first half hour of the movie which introduces Roshan (AB Jr) to the sights and sounds and culture of Delhi is done superbly. If one had to show foreign visitors in 30 minutes what Chandni Chowk and Old Delhi was about then the first 30 minutes or so of the movie would serve as the ideal 101 guide.

Most people would be confused with the movie since people have come to expect movies to be centred around a certain protagonist and his life. However Delhi 6 is not just about Roshan and his experiences but the people of Chandni Chowk and their lives. What binds them ? what makes them tick ? And most importantly what the whole essence of living there that makes them (and us Indians) so different from other people.

Editing was good with songs not taking up too much time. Clips from the Ram Leela have been cleverly inter-spliced with the on-goings in the movie. The climax seemed stifled mainly because in my opinion the director choose to be politically correct rather than being adventurous like in RDB. I can't blame the director for his vision there. The songs are great with Masakali and Bhor Bhaye being one the best compositions. Scenes worth taking home are Roshan experiencing the traffic jam and enjoying it for the first time. Jaigpopal and the hindu brigade ransacking an old muslim friend's jalebi shop. A few scenes from the climax though revealing them would ruin the movie for everyeon. All in all a very under-rated movie !

Please no spoiler

like that G@D w@r has posted. Useless.

:boxing22::lame: Ehh??? wwat about the thread starters post  ? :S i didnt say movie is bad.. i just said that some things in movie i didnt understand :)

Not bad at all... I absolutely enjoyed it. If you are watching it with shallow mind thinking about just another love story entertainer, or even with pre-notion of something equally epic on the line of RDB, then you WILL NOT enjoy this.

But if you watch it and catch the subtle jabs (oh, and they are so many) at our social mindset... then you will not only enjoy it but also learn something that director really wanted you to unearth from the light-comedy-drama facade of the movie.

I liked the movie. Its very well thought of and made. The one thing that ticked me off was of Abhishek speaking english all along. seemed so made up..

Actually, the film was not bad at all :)

Sonam Kapoor really wasn't the crowd-puller :D. Looked like she was hyped up!

AB delivers.. I dunno why we can't accept films like this now and then :D

7/10.

lol the first post really scared me....had been waiting for sonam kapoor :ohyeah: oopss delhi6 for a long time....but atleast some guys have said its good...will still go ahead and watch it...
i think as someone else said it earlier dont keep rdb sort of high expectations...maybe thats why many got dissapointed...lets me watch it and then will post my review too

Beautiful movie. Loved almost every bit of it 'cept for the ending.

This movie really shows how Bollywood is growing up and producing cinema with subtle undertones which make you think rather than over-the-top, dumb-if-you-miss-it kind of movies. The superb visuals and captivating new-age ARR music are coupled with the very natural acting by the entire cast. Abhishek Bacchan as the US-returned, accented (it's true, if you've lived in certain place for more than 5 years, your english accent changes but your mother-tongue remains the same), very unbiased Delhiite; Sonam as the smart but innocent middle-class girl pursuing a dream; even the support cast carry off their roles with aplomb.

Overall though, I found the movie to be more of theatre than your typical storyline based cinema. All the fantasies, the indirect references make it a great watch all throughout. The ending is a bit of a letdown compared to what the rest of the movie builds up to but it still leaves a smile on your face.

Loved it. Would definitely watch it again.

PS: There are a lot of people who're cribbin about the movie being nonsensical n there are an equal lot sayin it's "tryin to be creative". To the first lot, please don't compare to the usual straight-forward bollywood tripe wid defined characters and extremely dumbed-down plots for everyone to understand. To the latter, please show me any other mainstream movie which dares to be this subtle. :)

Watched the movie today... Came back with a headque... But not because of the movie but because of the movie being played at such high volume in the cineplex...

As for the movie. Its worth watching at a cineplex. Well made movie with awesome starcast and equally good music. The movie definitely delivers. Its not a entertainer but something different and creative. As for somebody who said that the story is made keeping a 5 yr old in mind well all i can say is except for the ending the entire story is believable. And the black humor shown in the movie is brilliant. Specially MLA's appearance during ongoing Ramlella.

I can say all of this with confidence as i had a terrible headque but i still sat and saw the complete movie cause it made me do that.
