Not bad at all :) They even allow you to customise it with a 256 GB SSD on the INDIA site now, nice!

Can you pls post\PM the name and number of the dell rep... I have configured one that is 80K (with 3 yr complete care) need to get it at 65K going by the discount you got!! :)

Dell XPS 14 is already discontinued in US, they are on sale only till stocks last, so dont wait for xps 14 SB,get the updated XPS 15.
 
I know. But I thought there should be some equivalent to thinkpad t410 from DELL. Latitudes are crap-priced ( alsmost 1.6times more ) in India. Even thinkpads are the same. There is not a good portable 13.3 / 14" laptop with enough power avaiable in India within 50-55k right now. :no: And I don't expect Thinkpad X220 to come in India anytime soon and not within 1.2times the price of US. Only option might be Vostro that too with small batteries and mono speakers.

days of 20% dell EPP discounts are over since 2 years , now its only 8-10% , even u can get that much without EPP by opting for a corporate discount , its just that u need to make the purchase not on an individual's name but a company's purchase,(on the name of any company) ,
they will email u the necessary documents and u wil have to send them the scanned copies back with name and stamp of that company , can be any (it/non-it) , i purchased it on my hospital's name and stamp

yes buddy... XPS 15 right, if you want gaming, simply select the GT540M

FOr gaming, the quad wont make a difference at 1366x768 and it will always be a GPU bottleneck... So grab the GPU and rest stock, should be 53k.

What documents were you asked for?
 
^ i was not asked for any documents , they send me the printed documents by mal , i was required to fill them up with name of the company under which i was making the purchase and stamp it with date , scan and send them back , thats it

Guys i am planning to go for dell XPS 15 , have had 1530 till now and planning to sell it and get this new one.. I am planning to go few changes like 1080P FHD , i5(same as stock) , 2GB GT 540M , all other are as such in that 51K DELL XPS 15.. I am really tempted to go for that cute lookingdesign for the lid .. but it cost extra... :verysad:

anyway i want to clarify few things

1.) How is 540 GT comapated to ATI 5870 (hope i got the number correct) found in MSI ..

2.) Is new XPS have better exhaust ? does it have dual or single fan ? coz in 1530 , it had single fan for both cPU and GPU .. which made both hotter at times.

3.) even though there is performace difference between i5 and i7 , will it evident on day to day works .. also how much difference can we expect in gaming ?

4.) will there be any new design coming out soon from dell ? coz current design is plain ugly compared to 1530 , which had better edges and great looks ... this new XPS looks like old inspiron ... :(

thanks a lot .. I too have a hospital , what details are they asking regarding the hospital ? and how much discount (in %) did you get ? , also can EMI be availed without a credit card ? or can it be availed on a debit card ? or by usual cheque (blank) ?
 
i purchased it last year , i didnt pay through emi so dont know of that , it was almost 4-4.5k discount for a 30k laptop , dont remeber exactly , they dont need any details of the company wat it is , just company name and stamp with date , thats it ,
