If u plan to upgrade your monitor you should consider Samsung SA850.It should be available in another 3 months.

Samsung SA850 features ....

> It uses Plane to line switching(S-PLS) which is a competitor to IPS which is 10% brighter and 15 % cheaper.

>Size is 27 " / resolution is 2560*1440.

>WLED backlight(80x LED bar) unlike Dell`s CCFL.

>16.7m colours with 8bit+AFRC panel.Dell has advantage here with 1.07b colors/12 bit(10 bit+ processing)

>5 ms GTG with overdrive/12 ms ISO response time,Viewing angle 178 deg
>Has Display port,dual DVi,HDMI and 3*USB 3.0 ports.

>Has height adjust, tilt, swivel and rotate support.

It should be cheaper than Dell`s 27 inch, only compromise is color.

hi nemesis,

my suggestion would be get U2711 now and use the s-video or component or hdmi input to view tv . I assume you are viewing tv using a set top box which has any of the before said outputs . After a month or two get a high end lcd tv > 42 " .

It was supposed to release this May........delayed, i can`t confirm the 3 month time in India, but the interesting thing is the S-PLS panel, which Samsung will definitely bring here.

S-PLS underneath is still IPS technology, but its brighter and cheaper than conventional IPS panel.

DellU2711 and Hazro HZ27WB use the same LG "LM270WQ2" H-IPS panel ,wonder how they got better reviews ?
Using the same panel does not mean they should get the same ratings. Just like Dell, Apple too used/uses the exact same IPS Panels in their Cinema Display line up. However the rest of technology used, OSD features, functionality, input options offered and not to mention the cost itself set the two displays and with same panel worlds apart.

Sorry ,I was actually referring the Zero return record of Hazro ,in most cases monitors are returned coz of dead pixels, back-light bleeding,speckles and color tinting etc.. which are all panel related.

And if u are talking about input options and other features Dell wins hands down.

Apple and Dell may be using the panel from same manufacturer(L.G ) but they are of slightly different versions of panel.

Apple 27" LED cinema ----->LM270WQ1

Apple imac 27" ------------>LM270WQ1-SDA2

Dell U2711-----------------> LM270WQ2

Hazro HZ27WB------------->LM270WQ2

Can any U2711 users comment on the usability of the display for gaming? I have been reading at many places that this display has a lot of screen tearing in games and it is recommended to keep VSync On. There are also guy's who replaced the display with 120Hz TN Panels because of the issues. I can live with Input lag, but glaring visual defects will ruin the experience for me. I notice the occasional screen tearing on my current S-IPS as well while playing fast paced games, but so far nothing that was unbearable.
