Okay started this "thing" a while back. Tomorrow is holiday for Eid, and have canceled all my engagements and outings. Probably going to sit back for 5-6 hours and hammer it out.

It is a lovely game. Done really really well. Extremely immersive, and has a ton of tutorials embedded in game to give you a heads-up. Am getting a steady 60 FPS lock on Dx10, all maxed out and gaming is smooth. The cut-scenes really steal the show. Integration of game mechanics to story line is superb. A good interactive shooter.

Oh yea, and the sound is just just superb. The second the game launched I guessed this is going to be one kick-a$$ game.

Update:

Got the Typhoon, and the augmentations have also started. Interesting. Really enjoying this one. It is so darn immersive. Gosh.

Now to sleep.

^^ Dang, same here! Yesterday put in 7 hours into this game, what a great well made immersive game it is turning out to be. I've taken a day off today, from the afternoon it's going to be a long session today :D

I cant even finish the first side mission..Where is the damn fire escape path..And all the hacking! grr cant quite get it !

Concentrate on the hacking, you need to reach the green globe to successfully complete a hack. Before beginning the hack, analyze the paths to the green globe and then go for it. Once you get the hang of the hacking process, believe me it'll get easier and will seem less annoying. Also, don't forget to upgrade your hacking skills (specially 'Capture') when you have enough Praxis Kits. :)

May I also add that capture and stealth should be the main focus, forget upgrading fortify augs.

If you guys are on pc, please do post frames and settings, I'm having a hard time getting decent frame rates at fhd.

Seems like a bunch of TE crowd began playing the title since yesterday? :D

I began the title after a brief co-op session of Portal 2 with Agent Hunt yesterday evening. The cyberpunk visuals and graphics from the game clubbed with the Dx11 settings left me completely speechless. Fortunately my system did not show any signs of hiccups having maxed out all the settings with Tessellation, MLAA and 16X AF enabled despite being on Catalyst 11.6. Getting a constant 60fps with V-Sync enabled. :P

The opening credits sequence was pretty neat - seems like most recent games have adopted a movie-esque approach with the opening credits sequence playing not immediately after the game begins. At the moment I've just completed the first hacking in the game after breaking into some building. Preferred doing it the non-lethal way. As much as I wish I can take a day off today, I have it reserved for a different occasion.

I never fortify my captured nodes, just keep moving as fast as you can. I have maxed out my 'Hacking Stealth Add-On' aug and this really came in handy to gain some extra time on those level 1-3 hacks. I was disappointed with the battery aug. You can purchase additional batteries, but only one will regenerate, the rest won't. :(

Yups, this game deserves long in-game sessions. Small timings will steal the fun. By the way, are the Praxis kits easily visible, or should one search every nook/cranny and all store rooms.

This is a stealth game. Gung-ho bang 'em will hardly work, and will steal the whole essence. You should be able to get 60FPS. Try to keep PP off, and DoV to the lowest possible.

Yups, always loved cyber punk and this offer a ton of it. The augmentation/armor/suit kicks Cry2 in the balls. :) Well done. The augmentation screen is so detailed. Was playing around with it for ages.

On a side note, this game is only using 50-60% of each GPU. I think there is a CAP out there to raise it higher. Will try that.

@asingh:

Yes, this game truly deserves long gaming sessions. Otherwise the immersion factor drops and you won't enjoy it that much. Also, exploring different sections of the map takes time and is fun :)

Regarding the Praxis Kits, mate I too have been searching all the store rooms and other rooms/crannies for them. Have gotten a couple that way. Another way is, you can buy them from the LIMB Clinic's with Credits that you collect. Also, I read online that every 5,000 XP points that you yield, leads to unlocking a Praxis Kit.

Exactly, I have gone for a stealth based gameplay too, tranquilizers, stun guns etc and takedowns. Just that there are some hacks in later levels which require absolute stealth, so stack up on them Worms and Nukes. Also, even if you have codes to security panels, safes etc, hacking them the regular way gives XP points so I do that.

Hmm, looks like everybody's maxing it out and I haven't been able to max out on 768p. With my rig I think I should have been able to.
Maybe I'll go back to 11.7 and see if there are any performance improvements.

Just finished the game! The game exceeded my expectation, but still it is a notch lower than the original Deus EX. The game could have reached the originals level if not for some unbelievably bad decision decisions. It takes one energy bar to take down an enemy, but running for ever does not take any energy! Health recharges automatically, but why does the energy not recharge fully, if it can partially? Methinks it would have been much better if it were the other way round, and you get health kits (painkillers do not count) instead of energy bars.

I really liked the stealth aspect of the game, and the bonuses you get for being stealthy are nice rewards. It would be been more fun if the AI had some intelligence. But, the original one had an even worse AI, so it is an improvement I guess.

After the game ends did anyone else feel that they are heavily hinting at a remake of Deus EX 1 next?

Off to Heng Sha baby! :ohyeah:

Minus the boss battle with Barrett, the rest of them were purely done by stealth and it was very rewarding. Almost every mission completion was being rewarded with at least 1000~1500 credits and eventually unlocking a Praxis point! The only arm that Adam was relying on throughout the missions was the tranquiliser rifle upgraded with a reload-speed module. Upgraded the inventory capacity and used to trade the surplus arms/ammo for credits. Presently improving the Augs for the Cranium. Hacking seems to be pretty easy thanks to all the Augs. done, the level of detection have been reduced drastically, can now find out what resides in the datastores and hack Level 4 terminals! The boss battle with Barrett was piss easy. All it took was a bit of stealth to hide behind the crates and knock him down with the shotgun stored inside the locker.

Are there no romance sequences possible in the game? There are plenty of them 'working girls' wandering around the city and some locked up inside the police cells. Some say they want to make love with all the oomph effect and others simply avoid Adam at sight! :ashamed:

Few queries for those who are done with Detroit:

1. The mission wherein the antenna atop the roof needs to be hacked and Adam is supposed to traverse through the building guarded by those nigger gang. As soon as Adam comes out of the elevator trunk at the top, there are proximity mines deployed on the walls. I couldn't find out a way to disable 'em silently and ended up blasting them with the gun! How else could one deactivate these mines? I tried everything possible I had at that time, but the moment Adam approaches the vicinity of the mine, BOOM!

2. To reach that particular building for the aforementioned mission, there are 2 ways. One is to scale a building, get down and sneak your way through or through a basement with electrified flooring. Is there a way to disable that electrification? I mean by blowing up some panels or something?

We will let you know shortly. :P

^^

I found the girls to be done really well. In fact all characters have been rendered quite well. Be it clothing/shoes and facial expressions. :)

Guys, for the "Motherly Love" side mission, I reached the cold storage safe house and hacked the safe. Got a gold bracelet -- but that mission log is still showing as non-complete. Took me hell of a long time to reach it via the Sewer path since I missed the back side drop down + vent + ladder entry. Now what. Should I go back in the main streets and just take the cranium implant to my flat for inspection. Still want to complete "Motherly Love".

Gannu, which mission you talking about, for the electrified flooring..?

All you need to do is crouch slowly towards the mine and you'll get an option to disarm it, once you're close enough. Press 'E' to disarm it. Once it's disabled, you can grab it and add it to your inventory.

In Detroit, you can't turn off that particular area's electricity OFF. But in Hengsha, you'll have a switch you can flip to disable the electricity.

Did you complete Jenny's side mission?

I swear I tried a dozen times but the mine ends up blowing the moment Adam comes out of the jersey barrier cover. :(

Pressed crouch and used to approach it. Or should I press crouch and slow down as well?

Nope. Seems like I missed it. Where does Adam meet this character Jenny anyway? Darn there goes some way of accumulating XP and credits. :(

At the Detroit Police Station, you need to confront a cop - Wagner, get some data out of him. Then some more from the systems inside the building. Access to the innards of the building is initially restricted but if you can persuade the cop at the reception desk, he'll eventually let you in. Then access the systems to extract the data as pointed in the maps and get out of the building. Then you need to head to a locker near the police station whose lock code is given by Detective Chase, the retired cop that serves as a security officer now. Inside the locker, scan the ebooks for all the relevant data and then open up the safe to get the bracelet and another ebook. Return to Cassandra. That's it.

Seems like you haven't reached that part yet. You will know soon. :)

You have to be extremely slow. The proximity mine is very sensitive and you go off, if you're not careful.

If you have a save, which you made just before you reached Hengsha, then re-load it. One the console, you have 2 options 'Latest auto-save' and 'Previous auto-save'. If you have just reached Hengsha, then load the 'Previous auto-save' and it should probably load the one before you approach Malik to take you to Hengsha. You can meet Jenny near the Chrion building. She's an undercover cop, posed as a hooker. Even I would have missed her side quest had I not looked up her location online. I knew about her when I got an alert from Pritchard, but the mission, or her location never showed up on my mini-map. So had to manually locate her.

I guess the cop was Wagner acting all gungo-ho. Hacked his office and got dirt against him, so he was fine. Then for the heck of it, I tried to hack the front lobby computer, and created a big-a$$ mess. Killed all the cops. Incidentally alarms can be hacked and turned - off to cool of situations. But coming back, I got the gold-bracelet and read all the e-books, but that side mission is still incomplete. Why return to Cassandra, it is not on the mission log. :(

Yups...Great. :)

Guys, those who want a grip on the hacking, in the beginning you will come across many empty rooms. Hack to your hearts content and get used to the concept. I did around 10-12 terminals and it was fun+XP points.
:)

^
The mission is complete only after you meet Cassandra and tell her about Megan. Just go by the points in the map and the log. Neatly described without a fuss. :)

Is the mission rewarding in terms of the content unlocked? I can live with some XP points or a Praxis point gone. Doesn't matter much. Will try it tonight then. :)

Did you get Meg's autopsy report?
