It might very well be around 10~11K from what I got from Vinod. So, hope to see orders from our ppl, especially the Opty fellas :)

Yeah I got it cheaper here..:D

Funky's right, I'm sure the guys at TheITDepot must be making a cool 10-15% but then I wouldn't blame them..

The rest depends on Freaky :D

Also could anybody clarify the main differences between an Expert and non-Expert board ?

I had a chat about this from Shamino of VR, it has a diff layout with RAM n CPU socket........ better "layered" PCB... for better signals (HTT & RAM... Oskar Wu Rocks!). Also you need not keep changing Jumpers (upto 4V on RAM & SLI , so Jumper Free) and it runs lil cooler as 4-phase power circuit is tweaked to da core. Overall a better board to Juice out watever lil is leftout in that CPU.

In that case i am interested. but try to convince Mr Vinod to keep the price nearer to 10K.

^^ But it uses the same BIOS as the regular DFI's right ?

So it really isn't all that worth the premium for moderate overclockers like me then...

@ freaky,
When is the expert m/b landing here ....?
any approximate time frame ?

and perhaps on behalf ITDepot people you may want to start a seperate "Interest Check" thread here for all those who want to purchase it.

@ Anish, no BIOS is different from rest of NF4 series.

Yes I will like to know when DFI EXpert is going hit the stores/streets. Freaky??

^^ Well the DFI site says that the Expert board has a "Genie" BIOS. Isn't that available on the regular boards too ??

^ Thats like saying all Abit boards use the "uGuru" BIOS ! ;)

Genie BIOS is just a marketing term for their special BIOS akin to Ati using the "Crossfire" name for their dual gfx solutions.

Only the NF4-D, Ultra-D, SLI-D, SLI-DR share the same BIOS since they are physically very alike. The Expert line uses a different BIOS and so do the Infinity boards.

BTW, heard Mr. Vinod mentioning that the Expert series of boards are expected in another week or so.

According to Mr.Vinod the boards should be here by 10th of this month and its priced lesser than SLI-DR.

@Saiyan, Freaky , Crazy_Eddy,
Mr. Vinod is always hinting that the price of the expert will be "less" than SLI-DR. How much less ??
The price of SLI-DR is approx 14K i believe ....and 13,999/- is also less than 14K.;) which is a big   for us poor members....

If Mr. Vinod gives us an approx price band ,for e.g. 10K - 10.5K , or 10.5K ~ 11k etc.... then it would be helpful for us to decide if it is at all worth getting the m/b from other cheaper sources.
