Hi all,

This has been a very common scenario since more than a year now -
You browse for some products on ecom websites / explore ticketing options at few airlines and you start getting 'those ads'/'recommendations based on that' in every damn website you visit.

I want to understand how to disable that. Also isn't that a breach of privacy.
What other steps should one take to make sure that your browsing habits are discreet ?

Thanks,

Adblock plus is just too cool. The product ads were not annoying to me but on the Torrent page, those vulgar ads were a pain. Since installing adblock, life has been good :p

Thanks guys.

Any other inputs ?

I think Disconnect will only work for future occurrences. For current ads, I will still keep getting it.
Haven't tried Adblock Plus, but seems like that is must have along with Disconnect.

@ronnie_gogs - So there is now way (except proxies) to avoid getting tracked ?
By that logic ISPs will have all your browsing details ?

@nRiTeCh - You can click on "Try it for now"

I know what you are talking about.

Go to chrome://settings/

then click on extensions.
Then disable the malicious extensions.
