Well all i can say is not all chevy cars are bad. We have Chevrolet Aveo 1.6LT model since 3 years, more than 35K Kms, We haven't changed any Major component in the car except for OIL/ BRAKE PADS/ DRUM PADS AND COOLANT & oh! Yes Tyre's

Ignorance in this area is very costly, I think yourbest bet is to know someone that is very clued up and take them with you.

Wrt to this thread, I cannot understand why anyone would buy an american car. Japanese cars are the most reliable. When i was in the US, Jap cars would reach 100k miles without issues, the american ones would start haivng probs once passed the 20k mile mark. Best part is the Jap cars there had a duty stamped on them so they were more pricey than usual, know what the americans did, price theirs slightly under the jap ones. Buyer psychology and you overpaid if you went with an american.
The 100k mile thing is provided you do regular maintenance as the manual suggests. You will never get that much over here because the road conditions are far more worse than over there and its just stop & go here instead of higway speeds over there, much more stress.

Well i second this DO NOT BUY CHEVY !!
Their cars as well the service is pathetic..Everytime you got to service center none of the parts are unavailable and u have to wait atleast a month to get them..Sadly you simply cannot easily find those parts in outside market..so u just cant do anything about that.
Cars are simply unreliable..They will broke down anywhere..I own an optra since last 3 years and i know this..You go and fix one problem and on the very next day you will find another one which are not even inter-related..Even now when i am writing this my car's throttle body needs replacement and its been over a month since i am waiting for that part. They dont even have the hinge of the boot..It is ridiculous.
Service engineers will simply ignore you and no matter how much you pay you wont get the quality of the service or the product..Spares are too expensive and prices are not at all justified
I had my front suspension replaced and guess what within 6 months its totally gone..When the ride came back after next replacement guess what they did not even bothered to tighten the mounting screw..WHOH !!
I would again say stay away from chevy else its your own money, spend wherever you want to..

Thats true mate...You ask for any sensors, fuel pumps, windscreen, Ovrms, anything related to suspension, clutch plates/pressure plates, disc brakes etc list is endless...They dont have it simply..you will be asked to wait for them..However the things u will always find include spark plugs, air/oil/fuel filters, wipers, brake pads, bulbs etc which are used in everyday service..
I have seen people fighting over there coz their rides were parked in service center due to unavailability of a commonly used spare like clutch plate..It has happened with me on numerous occasions..And as i said its already over a month since i am waiting for the throttle body kit in-spite of repeatedly asking them to arrange that..
