See this video to get an idea of too much foam. But comparatively surf foams less than ariel, this matters as more bubbles makes it harder to clean. Don't like the surf perfume though.

C Criminal Herald Jul 1, 2016 #43 I used Surf Excel Matic Top Load for quite a long time and I barely noticed any foam. Now I use Tide, which is suitable for both bucket wash and WM. It produces very low foam but quite manageable. We have soft water with very low TDS.
