^Let u know. As of now, there isn't any issue. Ran 2d mark Vantage, Farcry 2, Fallout 3.

^ Thanks .

I have had 2 BSOD since installing these drivers , may be because i did not bother to un-install the old driver's first . Did so now and giving 9.2 another ago .. , if i run in to my problems then reverting back to older drivers .

PS : On Vista x64

Looks fine to me so far.
But somewhere i sense ATI is going to comeup with another set of drivers soon as this 9.2 seems to have its share of troubles.

I took a hint all the troubles people are having and did a clean install, removed old drivers, used driver cleaner and installed new. So far, so good. Everything seems to tip-toe as of now. Didn't play much, just few sessions of Q3, Q4, POP4 and bit of video work (AE stopped crashing while doing OGL preview, not sure if it was because of Drivers or because of reboot after 5 days), Games are running fine, not sure if there is performance gain... but definitely no loss.

Need to create all the profiles again... didn't take backup before cleaning drivers.. :(

I uninstalled the 9.1's and ran the 9.2 setup which shows up catalyst install manager, registration during setup and no ccc or driver. I tried installing every other driver version whtat works on the 4800 series without success. Says 'No compatible hardware found'. I could manually install the driver from Device Manager by pointing the hardware wizard to the extracted driver folder and cannot install ccc manually.

Any one faced this issue ... plz guide. thanks!

haha thats why I hate ATi, trust me I never cleaned nvidia drivers, always files overwritten, no issue faced. But w/ ATi sometimes U need OS reinstall. Dunno why ATi has boring feeling, no fun, they dont release drivers fast.

Siddhu, ur right. I've been an nvidiot since i opted for an ASUS tnt2 in favor of a voodoo and savage4 9 years back. Never faced a shitty problem like this. I'm not even a noob but this prb makes me feel like one.

Anyways' no solution at all for this? Anyone?

This driver has dramatically improved the performance of F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin. My fps is now always above 80 now & even in highest activity it drops to only 42fps. The stuttering & auto-save freeze too is solved. The game looks much sharper after this update for some reason. Kudos ATI! :)

I don't really have many games installed right now, except for Project Origin, Secret Service: Ultimate Sacrifice, Blazing Angels II & DMC 4 installed on my PC. I used to get some odd whitish border lines on the edges of ceiling & certain other parts in Secret Service. But after this update it's been rectified. Didn't notice any performance gains for anything else as I'm not really a big fan of FRAPS numbers.

The driver though claims to have a 20% increase for both Crysis & Crysis: Warhead though. I haven't tried it out personally.

I seem to remember reading some time back that Microsoft blamed Nvidia drivers for most of the BSOD's with Vista

I don't know why people get so many problems :) ..i regularly update the drivers(bit late though), just before installing first uninstall the previous drivers using ati install manager, search for "ATI" folder in c drive, delete them all then reboot then install..never had any problem, except in the starting when crysis(without patch) used to shutter, i moved to vista 64 bit, since then all good..

+1,i have installed, uninstalled drivers countless times, flashed my cards' bioses from windows every time and except for overdrive not working on 3870 with a modded bios once, have never faced a single issue.the performance increases might not be as frequent as they used to be with the 38xx series but still every driver update seems to bring bug fixes and new features.i dunno if its the x2 cards and vista's trouble with drivers or the the large number of people who turned to ati from nvidia.:S

Thats what i would wonder all these years until it happened to me. I managed to kinda get around the problem for now by doing a manual install of the driver from device manager and get the fan speed to 55% with ATi Tray tools.
If this turns out to be a problem created by the 9.1cat uninstall afterall, then ATi better pull up their socks.

I hardly faced any major issues with ATI drivers till now. Except sometimes it doesnot install the HDMI driver which i have disabled now. Though its my habit to always properly un-install old ones, restart, install new ones restart then tweak then game. No major drag for me till now and i wont ever crossfire/SLI period.

Ahah, so release notes state Crysis?

1.Started downloading them
2.Warhead, DMC 4(Loved it) reinstalled
3.Benchmark tool ready.

:) Lets see

im on 9.2

did not clean previous drivers..i.e 9.1

no probs whatsoever..

infact never faced any problems after rewritting over the previous drivers...

im on vista x86 sp1

n it has not crashed due to any driver issue since i installed it 1st time :P (fingers crossed)

all other drivers in my system are upto date including bios.

still having problem with windows not letting me enable second core , have to install xp :|

Just a vague query but did u try installing the .net fx 35 SP 1 + the hotfixes I mentioned before? I see no reason why the 2nd card should not get enabled.
