Dumb Q: How is "Saiyan" pronounced ?

i hear that song daily

its labeled "Saiyan Dil Mein Aana Re" in my HDD too :P

but never realized it :ashamed:

now whenever i listen to it i start laughing :rofl:

quite a striking resemblance between Yajirobe & our Saiyan specially the mouth :P (no offense)
 
I actually think this thread is important. You people wouldn't want to be called racist or rather specist by pronouncing the name of their species improperly, would you?
 
some words cant be pronounced the way they are written..:bleh:

ex : sugar

u dont go to shop & ask for " suu - gar " . . . u ask for "shu-gar"
 
Hindi Saiya pronunciation would come into play if we were to go by the original Japanese term "Saiya-Jin"

In English, its simply Say-an (Saiyan).

One things for sure, Prince Vegeta wouldn't like this thread.

Unfortunately the way they spell a word in japanese is very different from how it would normally be spelt in english..no matter how easy the spelling may seem..so its hard to use the same logics tht we use with english..
 
^^ true . i have seen people kill the japanese word " thank you " pronounced ( i think ) " arigato " as " arigatou " "aligato" ..

might as well be "wally gator" ....

From now on, i will refer to Saiyan as DP, especially after that day when i mistakenly pronounced it as Saiyaan.:no:
I usually pronounce that as Sai-yun.:)

I can't risk referring to Saiyan with a part of his original name- my mum's mind will go into overdrive.:P
