Helpme guys

Philips 5106K u Need!

BTW,dont go for the latest upgraded Philips 3046 a it's still having sum F/w problem!

morever u dont get the 3046 currently@place u stay!

You won't get a denon, even the basic model anywhere close to that... get the samsung which techhead suggested.

@mohit: That player will be around 40-45, maybe slightly more. I had gone looking for SACD players recently and found a decent sounding denon. The problem was the price.... :P. 45K rofl.

Check the Denon DVD 2910... awesome player. I don't think the samsung supports SACD/DVD-A.
Nahh.. I think the S150 or something does support both. Friend has it.

@OP: WTF? A 42" plasma, and 6K is all you're going to spend on the source? Sheeesh.. send me the plasma, I'll send you a 19" LCD monitor..

Whats the model no. of ur LG ? If it is one of the newer higher res. panels then u could go in for a Samsung DVD player, forgot the model no., its arnd 7.5k and upconverts to 720p.

@Chaos ---- Does that Denon player scale regular DVDs to higher resolutions ??

I know I am not using the correct words here, but I hope you get what I meant.....

^^ you are using the correct words :P

anirudh, I don't much about DVD players, but if you need the best possible quality on a budget, use your PC as the video source. Get a GF 7 series or Radeon X1K series card ( 7600gs or Radeon .....ummm ....something :ashamed:). Use purevideo or Avivo, will give you much better quality than any entry-level DVD player.

great suggestion zhopudey repped you

he has a 7800GT too :hap2:

Ohh 7800gt! Thats great! Well, then use WinDVD or TheaterTek and enjoy video bliss :D And the money you had saved for a dvdp, buy a soundcard instead. :D

^^Just entry level ? It'll give better output than even a 2000$ player

a) You forgot I gave you that link? :P
b) Since the Meridian 800 DVD machine costs more than $15,000 we could call $2000 as entry level :ohyeah:

Edit2: :ashamed: You already have an audigy :P Well, you just need to get your hands on a IR or RF remote, and a copy of cinemar's DVD Lobby, and you're all set to go :hap2:

Would the difference in quality using avivo & purevideo be that noticable if i'm using a normal crt based tv ?
