Storage Solutions DVD Writer buying advice

as u are interested in buying a new DVD writer...i wud suggest u to go for Sony or LG as these are the leaders in the market and myself have 2 writers in my computers and till now i've not faced any problem with these.. u can blindly go for any of them

I've had two friends whose HP DVD writers have gone bad after about 6 months...
 
There is no choice picking between LG/SAMSUNG/SONY/HP/ASUS etc Optical drives life depends on luck,sometime work for many years sometime only two months.
Go for any brand then RMA drive in 12th month of warranty :p Get new in RMA then hope working atleast for another year.
