English TV series discussion

Better Call Saul is doing very good. I smell Mike's story in next episode.

House of Cards finished 7 episode. Looks like F.U. is struggling. I personally liked the focus on Stamper. Underwood has alienated his closest ally of 10 years (or more I think) who, I assume, will be useful for the Fall of Underwoods.

As for Arrow & Flash debate, it is foolish to compare these shows with Breaking Bad or True Detective. It is like comparing movies like John Wick, The Raid, Pacific Rim or Fast & Furious movies with Interstellar, Her, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Gone Girl etc. They are made with different mindset and appeal to different demographics.
It is nice if you enjoy both serious and entertaining films/TV shows but no need to bash them or call them bad if you don't.

The show got it all wrong. Underwood character would have never done that kinda stuff. Thats very Un-Franky. He is calculative and manipulative and he wouldn't miss that easily. (unless its his plan to send Doug as a trojan)

Well I just watched eighth episode and I think you might be right.

Better call Saul... E05.. Laughed like hell on toilet buddy..
But ended with Mikes story.. Eagerly awaiting for next. Not to mention the real background for chucks condition...
Vince you are doing it again.. Just like s03 of BB

That Kimmy Schmidt serial is really good. Best new comedy of the year. Sirens is also doing well. I like it a whole lot more than Brooklyn 99.

Walking Dead picked up the pace again.
The last few episodes were boring, They tried to just drag the story to complete the season.

Better Call saul as usual keeps me Glued.:)

Justified is going at a snail pace.:arghh:

Banshee just got interesting. ;)

Chicago PD on Break. :(

I am currently watching Arrow S2 and it's far more better and entertaining than S1. Yes as someone mentioned above, there is too much melodrama at times but the action scenes in S2 are much better and Manu Bennet is kick-ass. There is also a lot of fan service in many nods to the DC universe. My expectations were not high after S1 but I guess once you get used to the 'TONE' of the show, it can be fun.
Season2 is lot better.

Started HoC S3. Saw first two episodes and I am already bored :-/
Mee too. Stopped watching

Like others said, I cant digest shows like arrow, smallville. When you have already watched shows of such high caliber like GOT, Breaking bad and others, these shows feel cringeworthy and predictable. There are many finely made shows which very few talk about like The americans, How to get away with murder etc.

Not necessarily. For a network series, Arrow is a nicely crafted show. It's not perfect, but it sure as hell entertaining. The high caliber shows you mentioned isn't supposed to set a benchmark for every network shows to be on par with their standards; it's not really a fair draw. TheCW shows always manage to blend a moderate amount of cheese with other aspects, but still manage to draw audiences and continue in the long run. Supernatural is one such great example. I never expected a lot when I went in, but it took me by surprise and still continues to be a fantastic show. Though I don't consider Arrow on the same level, but if we reduce the family drama, it's a kick-ass action show based on a comic book super hero.

Watched the pilot of Flash. Enjoyed it. The tone feels more bright, fun and superheroic as compared to Arrow which is a bit, dark, brooding and melodramatic. How does the Flash timeline work with Arrow S3? Do they run parallel?

Shameless S05E08 - this series make me happy, one of the few TV show that are as good as first season and still rocking...
Today's episode was hilarious, and ian is back..

Any CSI fans over here..

Has anybody watched the pilot of CSI cyber yet

It makes CID look like the Wire :p, but if you can ignore the bs "hacking jargon" its a standard procedural in a slightly different skin, watchable if you are into that type of show.

For your consideration :
