English TV series discussion

Money Heist is strictly one of those 7/10 shows. Not getting the hype at all.

Watched first few episodes and the writing is quite poor and entirely dependant on silly plot devices to make stuff happen (going out for 'fresh air' when you have an entire spec-ops team surrounding you?).
Maybe it gets better later.

Firefly is really really good.
Watch Serenity afterwards which gives enough closure so that you don't feel your time was wasted.

BSG is also overall excellent. But it had some filler seasons which existed solely to extend the series.

Imo, Lucifer is garbage.
It's not even a good procedural show.

What a mockery they made of what was possibly Neil Gaiman's best work (even better than Sandman imo).

Yup. Just watched the penultimate episode which was a straight western without any sci fi (standoff in a wh***house). Just read that these last episodes weren't even aired!! There are still so many active members whose back stories aren't yet explored. Guess I'll be prepared that won't happen.
Why hasn't Netflix picked this up yet?
 
Homeland season 7 was pretty darn good. Not as good as s6 but still better than the usual crap.

One funny thing is they edited extensively with scene cuts whenever carrie is about to have one of her cryfaces when it's not really needed :p

Jeez, talk about an actor who really gets into the role...
 
Completed watching Dark last night. Nice and slow brooding though the ending raised more questions than answers. Cinematography and camerawork was bloody brilliant.

People have compared this series to Stranger Things but they are as different as chalk and parmigiana cheese.

The story, the setup and everything else is way more complex and the writers intentionally didn't dumb it down like most American shows.

If anyone wants to watch it, watch it in German with English subs. The English dub is rather lackluster.

Its an amazing show.
The english dub works well too. I watched an episode in German, didnt quite like it. Though if you watch English Audio with english subs, you'll find that the subs have been translated from German, and there are subtle differences in language and word choice at sometimes, that actually change the meaning a lot. So english subs with english audio will do just fine.
