Thanks people for recommending The Big Bang Theory. I was sceptical before downloading it, as I'm not very good at science. Fortunately I could easily catch up with most of the references in the show. It's hilarious. :hap2:

There aren't really many science references that you need to "get". :S

Finished watching The Big Bang Theory a few days ago. Couldn't stop laughing the whole time. A must for anyone who understands a bit of science.

Too bad its getting a little stale these days... :(

Re: Please suggest an english TV series

So far I have seen the first five episodes of Season 2 of The Big bang theory and I can safely say that its a marked improvement over Season 1. Not to forget, penny turns more hotter by every episode.

Re: Please suggest an english TV series

Tbh, its the same crap that the producers spewed out with Dharma & Greg but in a more acceptable setting. But then again I even saw a couple of Dawson's Creek, and hence I can take pretty much anything.

Re: Please suggest an english TV series

Try new series : Castle

Only 3-4 eps are out as of yet, but seems interesting..
Its pretty good even acting wise.

Re: Please suggest an english TV series

I remember liking Boy Meets World on DD long back but I don't think I've like anything from them in a while when it comes to sitcoms. I'll check it out anyway I guess.

Almost everything that Sheldon blurts out tends to bounce off my head. Tell me that's not science (or physics) references he makes? :S

Penny is OK to be honest. I would have loved to see more of Missy though (Sheldon's sister). She was totally hot. :hap2:

But the whole point of those dialogs is for them to go over people's head. Thats what makes them funny. :P

Re: Please suggest an english TV series

Kind of but I suppose true physics fans would associate. :)

On a side not, The Terminator Decoupling episode was hilarious.

Re: Please suggest an english TV series

sad to see that [SCRUBS] is no way to be seen in this thread(considering it got one of the highest rating for a comedy show both in 9.2 @ IMDB n ranked No.2 under comedy n No.6 under all genres).

Re: Please suggest an english TV series

I would rather vote for Top Gear.. I guess its the best... Best in Comedy anytime! Best in action! Best in true spirit and best in almost all..

Jeremy, Hamster and Captain Slow FTW!

Re: Please suggest an english TV series

castle is actually fairly entertaining. the main actor - nathan fillion (captain malcolm reynolds from firefly) - is a good comedian with great comic timing. it's one of the only good mid season shows that has started up recently as the fall seasons wind down.

another nice show is breaking bad. the story is interesting and it's very gritty and in your face. the 2 lead actors give great performances and i believe the main guy has won an emmy for his role in season 1, which was only 7 episodes long (due to the writers strike last year).

then there's a show called damages that just wound up it's second season. starring glenn close, rose byrne and a host of tv and movie stars, it's the story of politics, power, corruption, law and it's manipulation. the first season was pretty good, like a thriller movie in 12-14 episodes. the second season wasn't as good as the first, but it was interesting nonetheless. if anyone bothers to look it up on imdb or anything, don't be put off thinking that it's just another lawyer show... it isn't. there are absolutely no scenes in a court room.

then there's eli stone, which in fact is one of 'those' lawyer shows. except it has a light setting for the most part (more ally mcbeal than the practice for example, except without the stupidity that ally mcbeal had). the show has been cancelled but the reason i mention is that it is one of the very few shows that come out that truly have heartwarming stories and episodes. there really isn't a lot of feel good drama out there, but this is one of them and probably worth checking out.
