English TV series discussion

Nothing beats the original ALIEN. AlienS was a close second, but the world of the 1st movie = par excellence.

maybe - but we're not really comparing films. We're just discussing the story arc and creative angles that the whole set of films brought together.

Though its been a while but the show that i actually enjoyed till the finale was FRINGE

I loved counterpart as well but unfortunately it was cancelled after just 2 seasons.

Another show that i watched in one go and enjoyed and still feel there should have been more seasons of it was watchmen

A very old yet utterly awesome ministries that i loved was The Lost Room simple fantastic, way way awesome.

Another show that i enjoyed ( i tend to like more of those miniseries tbh) was 22.11.63 simply fantastic

I am into time travel, espionage, thriller kind of genre, so I ll keep watching this discussion to pick some new shows

@Julian slightly OT but since we were discussing - maybe there's a twist after all.. https://movieweb.com/alien-movie-prequel-update-ridley-scott-prometheus-covenant/
Another in the prequel line eh? I hope they don't mess this one up. Too much. ;)

I feel you. Not many may agree with me on this but though T:2 was a technical masterpiece, especially at the time, i kinda like the original Terminator better. Hardcore, gritty, with none of the stupid jokes. An action movie, not an action comedy.

But HBO exclusive shows even on high seas have the same issue since they are ripped from the same shitty source - HBO.

So unless you can wait for months for them to be picked up elsewhere or bluray to come out, you are stuck.
There are tons of uhd rips out there though i haven't checked if the very latest ones are also available other than 1080p, mainly coz i don't watch uhd content. Old display...

Just started watching Counterpart and holy f*ck, for a 2017 show this was incredibly prescient from around episode 3 onwards with the masks and sanitizers in the prime world.

My last few watches have been Dark (Netflix), 13 Reasons Why (Netflix), Homecoming (Prime Video).

Absolutely loved Dark, its in my top 3 and I’ve watched quite a few shows be it BB, Sopranos or HOC.

Are there more shows like Dark? The mind bending time travel series if there are please let me know.

I may start watching Better Call Saul just to get a closure with Saul or may be start with Schitts Creek.

'Killing Eve' slaps! Sadly it goes downhill from season 2. For anyone having enough time over the weekend, season 1 is absolutely worth checking out.
Not for me I thought it was a great cliffhanger at the end of season 2. They did wonderfully well to explain it in season 3. There shouldn’t be an Adam if there’s no Eve!

It was good but started losing steam from a story perspective around season 2. JK Simmons was awesome but not Heisenberg level though.

BTW Raised By Wolves is moving along nicely. As with all recent Ridley Scott stuff I hope the outcome is as good as the buildup.

Oh, i read otherwise somewhere, that season 2 really picks up. I guess it depends on what each person's expecting from it really. Since it's really a kinda slow-burn spycraft series rather than sci-fi.

I'm not going to start raised by wolves till i'the whole season is done, but my expectations are increasing day by day lol.

Just completed the last ship
Lost a bit of steam in last season but was entertaining to watch.

Also finished Van helsing, it was okay.

Before that had finished The man in the high castle, loved it, wish they hadn't left it like that.

Also finished agents of shield, loved it till the end, almost endless possibilities there lol.

I loved the originals a lot, the plot was so damn flexible they could take it anywhere its was nice

Counterpart, condor both are pretty good

USS Nathan James! What days those were.
They did a Pearl Harbour for last season.

The Boys is a great show if you are into gory violence and supervillains being commercialised. pretty darn cool. Money Heist has been okay so far but kind of dull at times. I might pick up Dark. Looking for some sitcoms or Modern Family like styled show.

The Boys is quite fantastic (a lot of credit to Karl Urban)!!
Idk if anything else like it exists or not. But this is the first anti-suoerhero type show I've seen. If one is bored of Marvel/DC, this show is highly recommended.
