Error while installing most games on new PC! Help

I Built a new gaming system around the 18th of february this year, about 5 or 6 games installed properly without any hickups but since a few days im getting errors while installing any of the games that i had earlier successfully installed on my older system. does anyone have an idea what could be causing the problem? it usually says unable to continue the installation so everything rolls back and on certain games it says XX file could not be copied as the installation media is corrupt and gives me 3 options Abort, retry and Ignore. choosing retry eventually comes back to the same error. i am pretty sure that the DVD Rom is not the culprit here and all the DVDs r also fine, then what could possibly be wrong with the system that interrupts almost all the installations?

My system specs are as follows -

I5 2500K @4.5GHz

MSI Z68A GD65 B3

G Skill Sniper 8GB(4GB X2)

Tacens Supero 1000Watt Modular power supply

HIS Radeon HD6970 2GB

Cooler Master V10

Cooler Master HAF932 Full tower case

Asus DVD-RW

Logitech Kb and Mouse Combo

APC 1.1KVa UPS .

i was not sure where to start a thread but as it is related to gaming so i thought of starting it in the gaimng sub section. Mods kindly move if found inappropropriate.
 
Its gotta be the drive, these lenses give way in a year or two depending on usage, try dloading a game and installing it, better yet try installing on a different computer.
 
As suggested changed the Sata Cables for both the HDD and the DVD Rom with new ones, still no luck. Tried installing the same games again and all of them give the same error as they used to earlier regarding the installation media being corrupt. I have also tried installing the same games on my Laptop and they work flawlessly. i wonder what could be causing this weird issue. and the PC is barely 20 days old and i havent used the DVD Drive much till now. I can very well understand the DVD Rom going kaput in 1 year or 2 years but withing 20 days it cant be. any ideas wud be appreciated
 
Did you tried copying the game to the HDD then installing it? Create an ISO then use any Virtual CD/DVD Program to Run it or just create a folder and copy the files and then install. Try this and post back.

Its just that If you get an error while creating an ISO or copying the files to the HDD then its mainly because of a faulty drive...I guess.
 
Do one thing, copy all the files from that game DVD to a pen drive or external HDD (Using your laptop's DVD drive, not your PC one) then run the setup from Pen Drive and see how it goes. Nothing wrong with the computer, DVD Drive is culprit. It can happen no matter if it's 20 days or 1 year

Do you guys know if the game is legit then it would require removing copy protection first else you cannot create ISO
 
I have already tried installing games from my external HDD and the same errors show up then too, used the ahem version for doing this as i thought the problem might be with the discs but no luck. can the HDD or Ram be cause of such a problem? and any tests for testing the DVD-RW. i tried testing the ram using the MSI Bios and the memory test fails everytime. can this possibly be the reason behind such an issue? thanks
 
Looks like your system is overclocked. Return back to stock clocks and check.

Are you using the multiplier or the FSB/BCLK to OC your processor?

If you've tweaked memory timings, return to stock/stable timings and ensure its running at the right voltages.
 
The processor has been overclocked using the multiplier and regarding the memory, i have G Skill Sniper 8GBSR2(4GBX2) and the timings as given on the modules is 9-9-9-24 whereas when i check in CPU-Z it shows 11-11-11-28. Can this be behind the issue? and why is the timings not as mentioned on the memory? is it normal for the CPU-Z to show different timings than what the memory actually has? anyways ill reset the system back to normal and see if it helps.thanks
 
Can it be a problem of windows? I had a issue in january when i formatted my system. But i used to get it after installing them, mostly after a reboot with all the games and a few softwares The error was something like r6002 Runtime error. I formatted 2-3 times but the same error occurred, Then i brought a disk from my friend and now its working fine.

But Don't do a format until you're sure. Mine was a runtime error. That windows was not able to create new registries or edit the old. not sure though

P.S- Are you able to install everything else apart from Games?
 
Everything else apart from games installs properly. basically small installations are successful, games take a lot of time thats y after about 20 or 25 percent they get interrupted. and i just enabled XMP from the bios and increased the Ram Voltage to 1.507 manually, earlier it was set to Auto which had kept the voltage on 1.488 and after enabling XMP thr ram timings have changed to 9-9-9-24 instead or the earlier 11-11-11-28. I have installed the RAM Modules in Dimm1 and Dimm3. should i be installing them on slot 2 and 4? can this help solve the problem?
 
Sorry Buddy, None come's into my mind. If the softwares were not installing then you could've gone with a format. As they are..I got no idea I think other members might help.

for more information, i randomly get a BSOD and when seen in blue screen view it shows that Ntoskrnl.exe was the main reason behind the BSOD. can this be related to the installation issue? and this BSOD does not happe often, it happens after about 7 days or sometimes after 5 days and that too when the system is idle. never happened while gaming or doing any CPU intensive programs. any help would be much appreciated.thanks
 
Might be the RAM.I had the same problem.I used to get messages to the effect that the installation files are corrupt.Used to get BSODs even when the system was idle.After changing the RAM things took a turn for the better.Never had a BSOD or failed install again.
 
Ive tried running Memtest using a bootable disk it just starts and nothing happens after that. the memory is shown to be 0Mhz whereas the details about the CPU are correct.The red + sign keeps on blinking and it says Setting :Ram 0Mhz(DDR3-0) and in the next line it says 728K e820 off. This is it, nothing happens after that even if i leave the system idle for 4 or 5 hours. should i buy a new set of RAM just to check that whether the ram is faulty or not?

Memory has gone kaput. If it was okay, it should have displayed proper values and complete at least couple of passes. And lol, no need to purchase another RAM just to check whether your one is faulty or not. You can get your friend's RAM for an hour or so
