Normally people say- i understand your pain!!:)
I say- BS!!:bleh:
Only when you go thru something similar will you really know!!

I can truly understand what you must be going through!!
Spent 5 months in hospital after first two surgeries and still after 4 years, my new doctors are like- WHAT LIGAMENTS??

Take care!! Sometimes doctors and physios can be crap!!:@
You need to bear some pain while exercising your joint during physiotherapy but do not overdo it!!
Trust your instinct!! Trust your body!!
Take it slow and steady and you will be fine in no time!!
Me got crappy docs:@ but ace physios!!
Ask XT how i move, maybe slow but doing OK!! Got only 10% of left hip joint left!!

Now going to hospital on 10th for surgery on 12th!! Better docs this time!!

Take care!! Wishing you a speedy recovery!!:hap2:

well.. i twisted my ankle today evening.. it seemed fine but a couple of hours later i cudnt stand (on 2 legs tht is).. had my ankle x-rayed, waxed (as in wax therapy) and shot with a laser gun

got to go back tomorrow to the therapy..

i am sorry for you. and wish you a very good ans speedy recovery.

wax therapy and laser stimulation are ways of heat application it increases the blod flow through the injured region and reduces the inflammation and helps healing.

Probably a Ligament Tear...
Had that while playing Football on my left ankle...pains like hell
And it still hurts if i run a lot or if i exert/stretch my ankle a lot.
BTW, that incident was more than 3 yrs back.

Hope u get well soon....

ligaments are bands of fibrous tissue which stabilise the joints, capsules are a way of covering joints and lubricating things of joints, while muscles provide joints power and movements.

all these are collectively called soft tissues. Injuries to any of them is PIA as they take 21 days to heal when given full (100%) rest, which is not the case most of time so it takes even longer or sometimes the residual symptoms remain with you.

ligaments are the worst in this regard as they can not be regenerated by body like in case of skin any injury to it will stiffen it or permanently damage it. (ie : anil kumble`s rotator cuff injury which required the damaged portion to be removed surgically and reattaching ligaments and muscles to the joint capsule artificially.

so while you practice day to day routines be carefull and do not do smoething silly.

in masky`s case i think its to be muscle fiber tear so it will be healed but with rest and treatment.

was trying to move my fat ass a li'l too fast i guess.. lol..

btw, XT, the doc said something about tendons/muscles ripped off of the bone..

why dont you make that fatso a little lighter to give a lot of relief to your weight bearing system. lol :P

Yea....and whatever u do....dont visit more than 2 different doctors...
i made that stupid mistake and each one gave me diff advice.

thats because its a very complicated technical thing every doctor goes as per his study, his experience in same disease, the locality of patient, the lifestyle of patient and likewise so different opinions are always likely to happen, especially when you meet two different generation of doctors and the older one has not kept pace with updates in subject.

its very simillar to the computer and technology : like here you ask something and people will jump talking their choice and opinion and you have got a very fast and furious running forum like TE so difference of opinion is here to stay.

aaah..... I always had my doubts abt Sunny.... :P

And medpal ... thanks for the lengthy explanation....

One of my friends tore a ligament in the ankle abt 5 years back and sometimes, the ankle is still in pain. MY friend cannot stand for long, or run or walk for long. That is because by his own admission, he did not take enough care at that time. He was 15yrs old and he totally disregarded his doc's advice.

Today, finally, he is doing something abt it and exercising it according to the doc's instructions.
