The copy paste app is already out and shud b there in the installer 4 for the 2.0

+ i guess its no brainer to get the 3g OFFICIALLY cause u will only njoi the app store apps

if u wanna njoi the better and 90% free/AHEM apps u will need CYDIA or INSTALLER 4 . that means u gotta Jailbreak ur IPHONE so u automatically loose ur warranty aswell ....

BTW the 2.0.1 is out and i guess we shud get the 3g in INDIA with 2.0.1 ;)
 
Uh you don't really lose your warranty if you jailbreak, you can just restore the iPhone to it's official state before sending it in to the service provider if you get any problems.
 
Aug. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Bharti Airtel Ltd., India's largest mobile-phone operator, will introduce the iPhone 3G in the country on Aug. 22, part of a 70-nation rollout of the faster, cheaper upgrade to Apple Inc.'s mobile handset.

The handsets will be sold through the operator's customer service outlets, the New Delhi-based company said in an e-mailed statement today. Bharti didn't provide pricing details.

$200 for 8GB
$400 = Rs. 12K for 16GB in US.

I know most Indians are currently eyeing the 16GB model and 8GB will be seen getting obsolete in coming years..

Wrong. Most of the people in India would want to buy 8 GB (Don't forget its a price conscious market).

And $400 is not 12k :P

It costs nearly 220$ for 8 GB and $440 for 16GB in US (including taxes)

Incorrect. It states the cost of the original iPhone when launched in US. No word on pricing on iPhone 3G in India in the article.
 
no price set yet and it will be with contract.

also they are planning to sell it without contract but for that you will have to visit apple store.
 
^^ Which newspaper?? i doubt it will be only 20k without contract. And how did they come up with that price?? Air tel or vodaphone haven't mentioned the price yet.
