Well if you remember the ending of F2, it is quite apparent what 'Alma' did.

....She just wants more Psychic babies of hers like Fettel and Point Man so that she can protect herself.

Will play this irrespective what review sites say..!

...One really should, I started last night and can't wait to really get into it,I am not so sure about how the Co-OP would work though, looked nice in video's but haven't tried it....

^ the review's mention it being almost impossible difficulty in solo mode because of lack of ammo.

you guys wanna fire up co-op 4 player using hamachi?

Graphics - Nothing new, sub standard

Horror - Psychological Mind-puck, a bit overdone

Gameplay - Below standard fps

Difficulty - Designed with co-op with mind, if you play solo, boy you are GONNA HAVE A HARD TIME, ammo will be a HUGE problem, especially in boss fights. You DUMP ALL YOUR ammo in accurate shots, and still you'll run out.

Price - 59.99$

Verdict - Not a recommended title, you may play it but it won't give you any great fps fun, nor the dead space 2 sickening horror

There you go.

^^
Still gonna play it. No ways can I leave a F.E.A.R. title. One of my favorites. First game, put the hooks in deep.

Meh! I'd definitely play this irrespective of what the reviews say.

The reviews for Brink were positive but the game sucked altogether. :|

EDIT: Which review was that anyway? I can't seem to find any links other than the same post you have Ctrl + V'd at the TDF's thread.

Guys there was a game of FEAR name FEAR REBORN ..has anyone played it,,,,i have played the all other ones namely

FEAR Combat
FEAR 2 Project Origin
Fear Perseus Mandate
Fear Extraction point

Is this FEAR Reborn connected in any way to the original in terms of story line :)

It seems that it is just an online version but dont know exactly :(

FEAR Reborn...and all the Expansions are kinda related to the series, but really are side stories...more than the actual thing just a small add on...The real story is just in Fear 1 and Fear 2. All the DLC/expansions are not really continuation of the story as per Monolith Productions.

yes there are 4 extra maps in it and a bit of the story as well (Single player if you are asking...), but then again not needed to be played to understand the story...

The title has received positive reviews, with a score of 79 and 80 for the Xbox 360 & Playstation 3 versions on Metacritic. IGN awarded FEAR 3 with an 8 out of 10 rating. Stating that "Whether you’re looking for a new, solid shooter to play or something set in a unique, horror-filled atmosphere, F.E.A.R. 3 has something for you. You won’t find the be-all, end-all shooter experience with F.E.A.R. 3, but you’re still bound to have a lot of fun."

Oh boy, just completed the first interval and it was certainly awesome! Some real adrenaline pumped action. (I've no clue where compaddict drew those ridiculous conclusions from but it was remotely close to whatever has been posted there.) The opening sequence was awesome.

There are plenty of WTF! moments in the game (there's one just a couple of minutes into the game!) - Alma makes her appearance now and then, random things being thrown out of nowhere, fuel pipes breaking and catching flame etc. The protagonist is Point Man ofc and he needs to get out of the asylum where he is being held captive. No clue as to how he reached there though. Maybe the comic prequel might explain that. Fettel has changed in his appearance from the previous iterations. I will stop right here lest I spoil the experience any further for you folks.

Point Man is able to carry 2 weapons at a time. He can wield a pistol/assault rifle/shotgun. The knife can be used for melee. The reflex time from the previous titles return, simulating slow-mo when the Point Man can have a due advantage over the foes for a quicker take down. However, it is consumed pretty quickly. It recharges over time. Health follows a regenerative system. Cover system seemed to have evolved in this title and it seems to be pretty good at that. Point Man can take cover over any object avoiding enemy fire. However, there is no blind fire here and the protagonist is still vulnerable to enemy fire if he aims while in cover. One major downside is not being able to pick up and throw the grenades thrown by the enemy.

There is a challenge system in the game to improve Point Man's abilities and this depends on completing certain specific objectives (like 30 headshots, 20 kills with the shotgun, collecting Alma dolls etc). Points are rewarded each time the objective is completed and towards the end of the level, the total points are summed up and rewarded. The reflex meter improves gradually.

Performance wise, the game isn't any taxing on the system. Was able to max it out without issues with 4X AA. The graphics and the visuals is certainly good if not the best.

A good pair of cans and a dark atmosphere is the perfect setup for this game!

Can i start Fear 3 i have never played any fear games
In my opinion it would b better to play first Fear 1 and Fear 2 as they are connected to Fear 3 in terms of storyline and moreover Fear 1 is something you shouldnt miss,,,,The FEAR 1 graphics are really cool even if compared to current graphical scenarios :)

One could get bored with Fear and Fear 2 because most of the game is played indoors. Adding the fact that Fear has old gen graphics, it might not appeal to some. However, I still think it's worth playing both the titles and better to play if you plan to play Fear 3.

Btw I haven't played the DLC's myself. They aren't really related to the main story line and can be skipped. Also they don't give anything new. It's basically the same gameplay with a side storyline.

I am also new to this franchise. I am planning to complete FEAR 2 before I start with FEAR 3. I wanted to play FEAR but I guess its too old of a game to enjoy by current standards. Will wiki the story of FEAR and start my journey from FEAR 2.

Completed 4 intervals and it just keeps getting better. :D

The combat is very fluid. There are mini boss encounters at different intervals. PM has access to Mech Suits as well. The arsenal expands to sniper rifle, rocket launcher, assault rifle, dual Uzis etc. Unfortunately I happened to take a look at the scores tab which mentioned just 8 intervals altogether. Which means I am already half way through. So this might seem like a pretty short campaign. And yes, once an interval is completed, it unlocks the Fettel's playthrough as well so one can play the interval as Fettel. Fettel has some really impressive powers. For instance, he is able to stun the enemies from a great range. He is also able to possess enemies.

The best part is the unpredictability of the game. At one moment, the PM is climbing the ladder, the very next moment - Alma makes a brief appearance for a second on the platform. Sometimes paranormal delusions are indicated in the form of grainy graphics and low lighting. Pauses like these are sometimes very scary!

The game's plot takes some twists between intervals. It would be pretty interesting how the end shapes up. :)

@Bluffy: Grab F.E.A.R. if you can. That is by far the best game in the series. The expansions and Project Origin wouldn't come close to it. Cannot pass a verdict about the third title as yet.
