My Predictions are -

1. Race Winner - Kimi

2. Fastest Lap - Kimi

3. 10th Place - Button :P

McLaren look strong this season. Not sure about Ferrari. Their car just fell apart for Massa after going over the curbs. Renault looks a bit like a second class team this season. Super Auguri has gone from zero to hero as Steve Slater put it. BMW are still going strong. Honda still seems to have plenty of problems. Toyota with their problems still managed to perform well.

1. Race Winner - Kimi
2. Fastest Lap - Kimi
3. 10th Place - Ralf Schumacher (would really enjoy if Alonso ends up here :P)

Hahaha....
Just look what the exit of The Best Race Driver in F1 history has done to the sport...

Until last year, there would be pages loaded with Schumi and Schumi and Schumi content...and all the hype was there....Thats before the race...

Look now...hahaha...hardly a page:rofl: And that too after the race is over.
Speaks volumes over how the sport has changed and how ppl are loosing interest in F1 after the exit of MS.

BTW, the race wasnt too great.

real f1 fans will be there forever cheering the sport and the new drivers. they wont lose interest just coz schumi is not there. schumi is not f1. he is just a small part of what makes f1. drivers come and go but that doesn't mean its all over. and the reduction in number of posts cud be down to the split with FE. ;)

anyways, comin back to the race...it was a no brainer really..it was kimi all the way from start to finish. i'd have taken hamilton ahead of alonso. lewis deserved to be 2nd after leading his champion team mate for the major portion of the race.

good day for me..my fav driver kimi won the race and my fav team mclaren finished 2nd and 3rd but i was surprised to see both mclarens finish the race in single pieces. :lol:

Well I did watch the race, but well u gotta agree that F1 has off late been out of the news...unlike the previous years...where u had newspapers with atleast a whole page dedicated to F1...
Whats there now?? A small mention..one article....barring maybe todays newspaper which had a full page article...well almost full:P and 1/2 of it was literally the Qualifying grid:rofl:

Anyways, my major point here is...F1 has lost part of its charm. Am sure most ppl would agree. However, I still support Ferrari and would be with them irrespective of the fact that I got no perticular driver who is gonna be the top spot favourite this time around...atleast not until now.

I do also say that the Ferrari Car this time is awesome. Its fast and its better than it has been. However, I guess the simple fact that Schumi is gone is kind of hard to digest:bleh:

Lets see what happens in the next race on 8th Apr.
Edit After Reading Post Below: U r most welcome Harshal Dadaji!!!!:D

I beg to differ... as XT mentioned above I also sense a Vacuum after MS retired. As for this thread.. it may be that peeps went to party last nite hence not much of a turn around. As for new faces, tho new drivers are talented I think they lack that larger than life appeal of few of da Race drivers even from recent past forget da golden ear. But thats just me :P

Thanks XT-Uncle... for link.

Long time coming for Kimi. After a horrible season last year in what can only be defined as a absolutely shitty car, Kimi has finally gotten a pole position in qualifying and stuck with it all the way through at Raceday. A long time coming indeed.

I have my doubts about what happened between Alonso and Hamilton after the second pitstops. Commentators think he was having some problems, but I felt Hamilton deliberately slowed down to let Alonso emerge into second because after Alonso's pitstop, Hamilton was way far behind and the difference in pit timing was only around .3 seconds or so. Great performance by Hamilton though. He looks like he could be the Tiger woods of the F1 scene.

First race of the season and I couldn't get to watch it ... the stupid cablewalla had turn off the entire network after India's loss yestday :( ... had to check the updates from the f1 site ... btw glad that kimi won :D

It's ironic that people think F1 has lost it's charm because MS retired when in reality, it nearly died out because of him a few years ago. That was the whole reason behind all the new rules brought in a few years ago. People were sick of watching Ferrari's continued dominance. It was absolutely killing viewer ratings.

@XT

the most probable reason for the absence of full page articles in your newspaper is that the article writer himself is a big schumi fan like you. only the hardcore schumi fans will think f1 is no longer f1 without him but i beg to differ. f1 is bound to lose some of its charm when a seven time world champ retires but that will be filled up quite soon and thats confirmed. :D

@harshal

u think they are talented yet you think they lack that larger than life appeal and thats coz they are new to the sport. nobody can project a larger than life image of himself in 1-2 years and you definitely can't expect that from rookies. if ur talking of alonso and/or kimi, thats your problem coz as far as i'm concerned alonso has taught michael a thing or two in the past two years and one of them being - you're getting older, you're getting slower and u need to retire :P

and the fact that kimi has failed to do the same is largely coz of his bad luck and inferior/unreliable machinery but everybody here knows that he's fast as anything and can drive the wheels out of any car (quite literally). thats larger than life for you or is it not? ;)

Few responses because of odd race timings...i still woke up at 8.15 though to watch!

I wanted Hamilton to come 2nd....damn alonso :@

Hamilton is looking to be the tiger woods of the F1 scene.

Hahaha! Renault has really fallen short. I feel the car is okay but they lack good drivers. The very fact that they put all their hopes on fisi is proof enough.
