Facebook's Messenger App Logs Way More Data Than You Realize

In iOS, it seems that the Messenger app is logging in data more than what it should be doing. I think we need no guesses for what could be happening in the Android equivalents.

The most annoying thing is if you use messenger, what do you do ? stop using facebook messenger and use something else. There isn't anything else. So stop using facebook messenger then.

Multiple strings discovered by Zdziarski within the binary also have an ominous phrase, [“DO_NOT_USE_OR_YOU_WILL_BE_FIRED”], tacked onto the end.

i thought this was a good thing to have as in do not use this r we will be sued to kingdom come.

It is surely more on the lines of FUD. However, you should be worried since it can actually break/byspass the iOS sandbox [simulated or not]

So apple will have to plug those holes.

if they don't have to worry about being sued then why bother to put those flags in there. It's ironic the blogger missed this significance entirely. Tech is neutral, it can be used for whatever purpose, those flags indicate to me that they are drawing lines which should not be crossed.
