Argentina vs Holland would be interesting. The 1998 QF between the two teams was a treat to watch and thanks to amazing goal from Bergkamp, Holland could beat Argentina.
This time, none of these teams is displaying their renowned beautiful game and is more intent on winning the game at any cost. Nothing wrong here, though. Holland adopted more defensive 5-3-2 approach in lieu of more eye catchy 4-3-3 formation. It is expected that again Argentina also, Holland would stick to 5-3-2 mainly to counter Messi factor. He is in awesome touch in this world cup and it was long due. He has been criticized for not replicating his brilliance for the country and this time he has replied in style.
Initially, Holland could scare the shit out of Spain with its brilliant counter attack thanks to Robben's brilliance. However, teams are gradually adopting to this tactics and atleast two defenders are always there to swarm Robben in his runs. As teams are more concentrating on contenting Robben, this has created space for Sneijder to move freely. In the last two games, Sneijder has lifted his game into a different level which should be a cause of concern for Argentina. On the other hand, RVP seemed to have lost his touch a bit which should be a worry for Van Gaal. The coach however has not lost his touch and the last minute substitution of the goal keeper would remain a talking point of this world cup for years to come.
