[the_beginner]

Hi,

So here is what I have come up with, I would like to get people's views and suggestions on this. I initially thought of 35K but now willing to go upto 40K. I already have my friend's Nvidia geforce GTX 1050 ti for graphics and the rest of my picks are below.

Also I am thinking about getting all these in Vedant Computers (Online).

That is indeed a very badly put together rig. I'm not sure who suggested you all these, but that guy is definitely not your friend.
For example, why you would get a Ryzen 3100 Quad Core for 10K when you're getting i5 9400F Hexa Core at the same price?
And there's the PSU, RAM and all. You haven't even selected the cabinet.
Moreover, I'd suggest avoiding Vedant Computers. They are the biggest scalpers on the market and throughout last year, their prices were looting customers.
Instead, opt for any other reputable store. My personal suggestion would be MD Computers.

Agree. The config is not ideal for that price. Ryzen 3100 is a mediocre CPU and on top of that you are spending 9500 for a motherboard that will be too much fo ryzen 3. A320 boards are more than enough for Ryzen 3. You do not need B450.

I had Ryzen 3200 + Gigabyte A320-DS3H + 8GB of DDR4 (adata xpg 2800MHz). Open half a dozen tabs in Firefox/Chrome and whole system would start lagging.
Get at least 3500 6 core chip. For motherboard, check ASUS Prime B450M-K for 6.6k (a wifi card barely costs 1k these days and there is no need to pay 9.5k for built-in WiFi).

If you are okay with Intel, check 10400F based configuration. This chip costs around 14k but it comes with 6 cores and 12 threads. Build your desktop around this CPU and you will not be disappointed.

Intel is the VFM midrange king right now. (who thought that AMD would be the performance king and Intel VFM king?).

SSD: 120GB SSD is waste of money. Get atleast 240GB SSD which costs just 1k more. If budget right now is a concern, get the HDD alone for now and use Windows on HDD. Accumulate up to 5k and you can get MX500 512GB SSD (or similar).
HDD: Stay away from Seagate and other HDDs that come with puny 2 year warranty. Look for models with 3 year or 5 year warranty. Failure rate is too high for these new HDDs.
PSU: Corsair VS series is not really Corsair. Check competing brands like Antec.

You really should try and get two sticks of ram because dual channel does make a noticeable difference.

Also for the power supply, try and get a CX450; best PSU in its price range, 5yr warranty & top of the line internals(either that or the MWE 450 Bronze V2).

Corsair has dozen lineups and VS is their entry level for those who want brand Corsair. There are better models from Antec that costs less and works better.

A pcie 1x or usb wifi is very good. They work as well or better than wifi on low cost mobos. Check models from ASUS for pcie wifi that also has built in bluetooth (use bundled cable to connect the card to bluetooth header on mobo)

I beg to differ.

MSI B450M BAZOOKA MAX WIFI, i.e. the motherboard originally mentioned by @the_beginner comes with a M.2 E key Wi-Fi+Bluetooth module. Agreed, the factory-installed Intel 3168 module is more of an entry level offering, but it can easily beat USB based Wi-Fi solutions. Moreover, it is possible to upgrade to a Wi-Fi 6E-based Intel AX210 by just replacing the M.2 card. I'm not necessarily suggesting to stick with this mobo, but paying for the M.2 E key slot is worth IMHO.

PCI-e based cards, as suggested by you, is also better than USB-based solutions. But there's no point to block a full PCI-e slot when you can have a much smaller (and upgradable) module by utilizng the M.2 E key. The M.2 2230 form factor is sufficient to hold the integrated Bluetooth chip as well.

It is worth mentioning that newer Intel platforms often deploy CNVi modules, which are dependent on the host CPU and can't be upgraded easily with an aftermarket module. Do read the motherboard specifications very carefully before purchasing.

i5 10400f is a decent processor for the price and an worthy alternative to the Ryzen 5 3600.
Antec makes great PSU for the price, reviews for the Galax products are not very positive so I would usually avoid them, Teamgroup products seems to be making reliable products.
Well it's not a bad idea to stick with 8GB for now but considering that you can get a G.SKILL Sniper X 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3600 for ₹6,996/- you should probably get these 16GB sticks. [ https://www.primeabgb.com/online-pr...ddr4-3600-desktop-memory-f4-3600c19d-16gsxkb/]

That power supply is not particularly good. Try to get an MWE 550 Bronze v2 (though the 450w one is plenty for your build) or a Corsair CX450 depending on availability.

Thanks for that bit of info. I'm not the OP but having WiFi on the mobo wasn't really a priority for me since I preferred a wired connection, but always thought I could get a WiFi card if needed. Blocking a PCIe, yeah that could be a concern in mATX but less so in ATX I think, depends on what other cards the they plan on having. For example, I'm planning to get an ATX board and will only have the GPU and an M.2 SSD at most for my current need, so there are extra lanes for whatever additional card I might require later.

But how does one replace the M.2 E-key WiFi card on a motherboard? Are these available for purchase here and are they cheaper than PCIe cards? I thought PCIe cards offer more benefits but I need to check more on this M.2 vs PCIe WiFi cards. What I gathered from quick googling is that PCIe WiFi cards are M.2 cards with an M.2 A/E-key to PCIe adaptor. I could be wrong though.

I would suggest u go back with your ryzen build but only if u gonna upgrade your components (cpu mainly) frequently, the only change I'm gonna suggest you is getting a b550 motherboard instead of a b450.
Now if u gonna go ahead with intel I wud suggest u buy i5 10400f and not i5 11400f . The reason being the price. i5 10400f can be bought for 12-13k but the price of i5 11400f is 17-18k(not justified). your cpu choice between 10th or 11th gen also depends on your gpu upgradation .11th gen is measurably faster than 10th gen but price is to be considered also . 10400f will support upto 2070 or 3060 easily 11400f will be about 10% faster give or take.
Also don't buy a motherboard cuz it has wifi it's the worst reason to buy one . For intel buy a h410/h510 motherboard and get a 1000rs wifi dongle which has usb extension cord it'll give u better wifi trust me , I have a tp link 1000rs dongle came with a 3 ft usb extension and gives me speed upto 150mbps(better range than my inbuilt wifi)

About AMD and Intel, both current sockets are towards EOL. hence, if you are not going to upgrade core components in future, get whatever best offerings are available for your money.

About storage, yes you can go for all SSD storage. I was using 256GB NVME + 2TB internal HDD + 2TB External HDD; my current setup is 1TB NVME + 2TB External HDD. Contents which are not frequently accessed can be put on an external HDD. Depending on an individual 1TB SSD could be okay for system, application, some file storage and few games.

Don't use those sites man, userbenchmark is well known to be biased towards Intel and versus is just not reliable. Look at reviews by actual tech reviewers. For example, something like this:
