Yup, he sure deserves it.

Coming from our country where sports is not given a priority and then to win GOLD in an event which in this country is hard to follow, practice and hard on pockets as well is something special.

Dont know if he was being mature or it didnt hit him yet. No excessive expressions on his face after winning :P

+1. Thats exactly what I was telling my friends. With no support from anyone whatsoever, this achievement is really commendable. I hope a decent show by others this olympics gets some sense into the thickened skulls of our government officials and they start supporting some other sport as well

Congratulations Abhinav Brinda... We now have a GOLD... :hap2: :hap2:

You have made us proud... This is a great day for India...:D

Abhinav Bindra finally liberates India at Olympics... Redemption at last.

Hopefully this will fuel a revolution...

Seriously, that was some composure from Bindra at the awards ceremony...

9/10 Indian athletes would have sobbed with glorious joy when the national anthem was being played...

Well done Abhinav, you have made us all extremely proud!

JAI HIND!

I am sure there will be more medals for us at this Olympics!

keeping with the Olympic spirit..

Saina Nehwal just beat the 4th seeded lady from Hong Kong to enter the Quarter Finals of the Womens Badminton Singles.

It is, but parents and students still give studies and higher education priority in our country.

Cricket is popular sport. But sports is still not a priority in India.

I watched this game. Saina is one of the top athletes of India. She played absolutely sensationally to win that third set.

It's sad that most of the Indians may not have even heard of that name but would surely know an Ishant or a Sreesanth !

Damn this chap is a rich guy already...i meant just saw his bungalow in Chandigarh.....His father gave him all he needed.....

I really respect such parents even after having so much they made their child to take sports and do the nation proud....

i really salute this gesture and indeed now i guess in next budget we will see alot being spend ed on sports now on
