Less jitter (in theory). Tho to get a DAC that does it properly is quie pricey. As time goes on more should suport it and the price will drop.

Yes. The DX has a 3.5mm to Toslink adapter bundled. But there's no point of having a sound card when you intend to transmit the digital signal to another DAC. The signal would remain untouched anyway.
