Review Flipkart - Feedback Thread

Just saw this post:

Got curious & checked all my big purchases from fk in last few months & guess what, not a single one of them has product serial no. mentioned on downloaded invoice. Is this normal & if not then what to do next?

PSA to those who purchased something recently:

Please check this & reply there if your downloaded invoices from flipkart also missing serial no. of the product.
You are not alone, it's a big problem. (Flipkart in general is problem these days)
Yes, this is deals page but when you are hunting for deals and you get fished by some random reseller hiding behind RetailNet or something, it's really hard to get Flipkart to provide you a solution. 10 days have passed and no one is helping me with my defective monitor, I guess complaining to bank CC is only option left.. maybe the last bit of the credit card discounts are the real deals to sos

Update: Flipkart refused to correct the issue of missing serial numbers clearly refusing to reissue any invoice with correct serial number & basically saying you are on your own if face any issue in future while availing warranty. This response was from their 2nd level/last point of contact for a customer & no higher level possible to further escalate the issue.

Ingram then Consumer Court.

That option is on the cards once I get reply for above from Flipkart on this newly escalated issue because even having serial no. on invoice wouldn't be enough it seems.

We all know about the 29-99inr packaging fee on flipkart. At this point its kind of old news.

Today i bought a mobile which had 300rs discount via 300 supercoin.
For those who dont know 1 supercoin=1 inr ,atleast until now.
Cheap Products sometimes have 10-20rs off if u use the same value of super coins.
For ex instead of paying 539 for a product ,u can pay 520+19 supercoins.

Now since i used 300 points, i m supposed to get 300inr off, it was also written in the product page.
After ordering the product ,i checked the price and it off by a little bit, nothing significant .
So i thought lets see why my calculations were off and behold the hidden fees quotes as "OFFER HANDLING FEE".

So instead of paying 49 "packaging fee" , i ended up paying 100(50 for packing and 50 for the gracious offer to use 300 supercoin).
Its not like i mind paying 50 rs more, but ****ing hell, just be transparent and show something like 250 off for 300 coins or just increase the price.
Whats with all this bullshit just for 50rs.
It makes fk look like some cheap gali shop where u have to check the bill throughly or else get hosed for 10-20 bucks everytime.

RANT OVER

Just my two cent, being bought out by Walmart plays a major role in all this. Walmart has already ******ed the retail and local market in it's home turf. I have never had an issue with Flipkart not a single one. I have almost all Credit Cards that I "almost always" get a 10% discount. But a recent experience has left a sour taste. While amazon is no saint, every ticket I have raised (that would 2) about difficulty in claiming warranty, (though I had to provide all the proofs and stuff) I finally got a refund. Flipkart's level 2 support is basically shit, wait that would be insulting shit. They don't give a F***k about anything once the product gets delivered. Flipkart is only good for buying mobile phones these days.

If I do find something sketchy, I try to use AMEX Card. I don't even need to raise a support case, raise a chargeback from AMEX and enjoy the show.

Edit: Amex is hands down the best customer support/service I have ever received in my mortal life. I have been both a low Income, and HNI customer of them and I always received the same level of service. Compared to Amex, everything Indian and foreign is dog sh*t

SBI is opposite of Amex, no matter how much business you have with SBI, they are gonna treat you like sh*t anyways :D. Before someone gets triggered, I have family working in SBI.

Contacting customer support is always an issue, first we have to chat with a bot and if lord bot approves then we get to chat with a customer support person. And from my personal experience, no matter what I press on the ivr, it is impossible to chat with airtel support. (Now I just send a message to port Sim if I want to contact their service support)

This I already learned few years ago & that is when I don't even hold an amex card but used a friend's amex card, their support is that much good.

Flipkart strikes once again.
ordered a wildcraft jacket worth 1500( 4500mrp) after a 65% discount.
was an open box delivery, checked from the outside, tried out the zippers all fine.
After a bit, tried wearing it myself and found out theres a hole in the one of the pockets.
this is the first time i m experiencing something like this.
and the cc is saying open "box" so get ****ed.....
now i understand why theres a huge difference in the discounts between fk and amazon.
This is the 2nd time when i have had issues with clothing items, last time they had techical issues in returning shoes and after 6-7 return failures i gave up.
I will update what happens .
But be very careful if u are buying anything with open box delivery, even minor defects can **** it up.

Open box is scam that benefits Flipkart more than it does customers cuz there is no way you can test everything in like 5 minutes and it absolves Flipkart of all responsibilities. Online retailers need to stop this. I only buy big items (and not time critical) from flipkart and if there is even a single minute scratch, or packaging looks anything less than absolute perfect, I straight up refuse to accept it; let them get a taste of open box delivery. All they want is to stop returns, and given that Flipkart has been loosing money I expect worse in future.

Amazon at least has a customer support.

Not to mention if everything works fine/able to check everything in 5 mins still there is no guarantee you will even get full warranty on the product if its manufacturing date is too old & some products box don't even have mfg date (like what happened in my case with a motherboard).

Exactly, and Flipkart's invoice is worse than buying a preowned item. Flipkart was doomed from the get go; an Indian online retailer that neither knows online nor retail. Everything from top to bottom is full of sh*t. If not for Walmart these guys would have gone bankrupt a long time back.

Actually they were quite good in the beginning just like amazon but they both made the same mistake of not differentiating "good customers" from "bad customers" & making "good customers" suffer too for the damage done by "bad customers". Amazon is only better than flipkart currently because they have deeper pockets & tech to better differentiate between good & bad customers after they realised their mistake while flipkart still seem to not realize this even though amazon quality too has gone down a lot compared to their initial years.

Any startup is great initially as they have VC money to burn and the customer base is small. It is bound to get worse over time, especially in India due to the mentality of the buyers to cheat the retailer if they can. They have to be very specific about what benefits to provide to whom based on purchase history. Amazon still does it as I have been repeatedly able to return or keep non-returnable items till date. Flipkart seems to be least bothered to set up better analytics and they come up with such blanket policies like open-box or banning pin codes, which is quite anti-consumer.

In the western countries, there are 30-day return policies for almost everything and they don't even bother with the condition of the product at the time of the return because people are generally honest and the return costs are quite small compared to general sales. In India, pilfering and duplicate returns would be a good proportion of the retailer's losses because of which they have to be stricter. I have friends in the developed countries who have been reporting fake non-deliveries and returning items after using them for a month on Amazon since they moved there, so I don't suppose the goodwill will last in those countries either.
