Flipkart : Nexus 7 2012 for 9K

Received the Nexus 7. But the package is not gonna be opened till evening when i will take a video of opening the package. I do that usually for all couriers.

I am going this weekend or so to find if i can get a matte screenguard for iPhone 4S and there itself i plan to ask if they have for nexus 7 (matte). Else i will order on weekend (saturday) through ebay, i think it costs around 160 Rs. No specific shop but i am gonna take my bike and roam around and see.
Few i have thought of are.. couple of mobile shops near Sony Center, one is there just opposite McDonalds. There are limited places in Aundh.
If you want to buy them offline only then i suggest you go to MG Road, there are tons of mobile shops there (many with same name as Big C) and there you should definitely get everything.
For case i am planning to buy a generic case as of now. I think it will cost like 210 Rs or so shipped from ebay.in

I have a poetic case on my iPad and that is good but too expensive. Will think about better case later. Till these 2 things are sorted, the tablet stays at home in box.

Also gotta test everything for the just in case scenario that the tablet or any accessory may be defective.

If you find anything in Aundh or around or Pune let me know. I am going for matte screenguard only and only because it suits my need and i don't want a finger print magnet on the tab. And i know the con of matte.

Can you explain ?

Even I am considering cheap screen guard and case (as mentioned by you) rather than expensive ones like Amzer etc.

I might visit Pimpri (Shagun Chowk) area for those else, ebay.flipkart !

Basic checks like powering on fine, BT, Wifi working, screen looks fine, accessories work as expected, tablet does not get too hot. Have to do all these checks and more so because there is history of people getting defective units or accessories from FK in last month.
 
Still confused between the new and the old one, does the higher resolution of the new one have a great impact on reading? or playing games?

If u want to spend ard 20k then definitely go for newer one for reading and gaming...Else for 10k budget its nice to buy old one...
My suggestion..I used old one 2012 for 9months and sold it...Go for newer one when price drops

I got this one to see how much usage of TAB i can do in my life. If I am able to extract good use of this tab I would buy the 2014 one :P.
 
I will have to check how much my iPad is used after i get this tab. My wife rarely uses the iPad at home and i only use after i go home.
 
Opened the device. Everything seems to work fine. Battery was less than 15% so kept for charging. Checked wifi, Bluetooth, screen and such.
The tablet does get a little warm from behind. Should not feel after I use a case.
Wifey says it is CUTE :P
But she wants to stick to iPad.

Tab was connected to wifi and after couple of hours got notification that update has been downloaded and i need to tap to install. I am not really sure which update is downloaded, whether Kitkat or what.
As of now not really updating anything.
 
Can any nexus 7 user recommend a good app to for reading experience.

Good in terms of reading experience, books availability (free off course :D ), format compatibility (pdf,epub,mobi,etc), and ad free ones !

Have epub installed but want to know about others.

How is Kindle app, can we convert epub/mobi files to it ?

the kindle app is said to be just 'okayish', in comparison with some better ones, namely, gbooks, aldiko, fbreader, moon+.
 
@Kilroyquasar Thanks, will surely try the suggested ones.[DOUBLEPOST=1385029929][/DOUBLEPOST]Another question - while downloading free books from play store its asking to register debit / credit card. Is it mandatory ? Even to have free books ?

So even if I give real details, while buying any book or app, does amount is debited directly or needs to enter PIN or something.

Just doubtful about purchasing by mistake, wife being the sole user doubt needs to be confirmed !!
