i can join but after 10 p.m. Why not start our own server? Someone can start it, but it would need some ports to be unblocked.

2:20 is so far my best. Got a momo yesterday... still getting used to it :P. It doesnt really feel like a car and i was doing really bad when I was trying to drive it like my car throwing it at the corners :P. If I was racing my real car on the ckt, I'm sure I'd do a lot better :rofl:. There was understeer galore. However once I got used to it, the game is lots of fun.

When you drive a real car everyday don't even bother with a momo man... that 360 controller is more than enough for racing sims :P Hell, I use my logitech precision gamepad and come up with decent timings in GTR2.

2:17:something on keyboard, the best I could do. It's nice to race against the one saved ghost though. I started at 2:24s and driving this with a keyboard it really takes time to get used to.

I wish we could lower the amount of fuel in the tank if nothing else - the full tank makes it very sluggish into the corners.

Wish you guys well for that race. No connection at home yet :( so have fun.
 
That's just one hotlap mind, in a race situation I get pushed down to the middle of the pack in the last level, never managed to finish above 8/11. And those times are all 2:23 or so, there's just something about other cars that slows me down and makes me drive badly.

And a keyboard absolutely sucks, but it's what I'm used to. I think it may get a bit better with time and practice, if I do indeed practice it more.

A good way is to load the ghost of Jan to learn the circuits. I was .4 down on the first sector, .8 in the second and by the end of the laps it was 1.6. Lost a chunk of time in the last sector as I don't really get the turn 10/11 sequence well at all, lose almost a second. I make a few tenths at turn 13/14 due to late braking and clipping the chicane (you lose a chunk if you drive over the kerb on the right hand side as the car bounces), but on the keyboard the throttle is either all on or all off, so I lose time on every corner.

Oh well.
 
i found that using the ghost cars made me go slower :p times dropped to 1:26's , maybe something like having another car slowing me down too hehe

I hope people are practicing with all driving aids off. I don't mind hosting. PM me on TE after 8pm or drop into the IRC channel from my sig. If we're already playing and the server is already up you might find it in the multiplayer list - "TECHENCLAVE M3 Challenge" or something like that.

With a keyboard you can't drive without at least level one TC as the car spins when you press the throttle key.

Or maybe I'm just sucky at it.

You do get around the track quicker with the stability control switched off though, as it tends to push your car into understeer.
 
i'll try to join though i haven't practiced at all

BTW, the game has excellent rumble effect on my PS2 controller. Although i had to configure it a bit.

retired in my first race :lol: bodes well for my racing career ! at least was saved the embarassment of driving along you guys

congrats to drunken driver for a podium on the first race :cool2:

It was fun... at least I beat the Drunk Eddy :P

I actually drove decently.... I thought everyone was playing with all driver aids switched off..... I then switched on TC and I was driving decently.

@Bottle --- Eddy HAD to get 3rd place... there were 3 people in the race :rofl:
 
^ Hahaha well with only 3 driving, i guess it was no biggie to manage a podium :rofl:

But damn you guys were fast.. we need another TE n00b M3 room for us slower guys :lol: . Is Nikhil using a steering wheel too?
